Mage Leveling Guide in WoW Forever: 4 Sources Name Frost
Frost is the spec most guides name for leveling a Mage in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever): Method says "Frost will likely be the preferred option," and NoobToBoss, SeeMeta and TimeSaver all name Frost Mage, while Gamer Guides grades Arcane. Every one of these guides was written for a beta capped at level 30.

Which spec should a Mage level in WoW Forever?
Frost, on most lists. Warcraft Tavern says Mages traditionally level Frost for survivability and control, and calls its level 30 Frost build "the strongest Frost Mage build you can get at level 30 in the beta." NoobToBoss and TimeSaver rank Frost Mage S tier and SeeMeta A (compared in fastest leveling class); NoobToBoss adds that it needs more attention than Hunter, and SeeMeta says cloth armor punishes every mistake.
Arcane is the dissent. Gamer Guides grades Mage A with Arcane, and says AoE farming took a nerf, so open-world mass pulling is weaker than in Classic. Tavern says Arcane is hardest on mana but gives the most tools to control it. See the Mage talent build and Mage guide.
Which Mage spells matter at which level?
Warcraft Tavern and Method agree on the early steps: Conjure Water and Frostbolt at level 4, Conjure Food at 6, Polymorph and Arcane Missiles at 8, Frost Nova at 10, Arcane Explosion at 14, Blizzard, Blink and Ice Lance at 20, Counterspell at 24 and Ice Armor at 30. Method calls level 20 "easily" the most important level and says to train higher ranks whenever you can.
How do wands, food and mana work?
Method says to get a wand as early as possible, because wands deal damage without spending mana. Tavern says to use Conjure Water and Conjure Food between pulls, warns that Frost turns mana-hungry if you spam it, and says to keep enough mana for a Frost Nova and a Blink in case a fight goes wrong. What does a Mage do in a first dungeon?
Ranged damage plus utility. Method's only dungeon remark is that Mages have "incredible utility, especially in Dungeons." Tavern warns that some area spells can get you killed when the tank's aggro is shaky. Read dungeon groups first.
Which professions suit a leveling Mage?
Method: "We recommend Tailoring as your first profession," with Enchanting second. Tavern calls Enchanting Tailoring's natural pair and Cooking a must-have, since food now gives an experience buff. See the professions guide.
