Hall of Things in WoW Forever? It Is the Hall of Thanes
"Hall of Things" is not the name of a dungeon in any World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) page I opened; the dungeon people mean is the Hall of Thanes, a five-player dungeon under Ironforge for levels 13 to 18. Blizzard's October 20 dungeon article gives that level range, as of November 6, 2026.
Quick answer: Hall of Thanes sits under the High Seat in Ironforge, Dun Morogh, with four bosses and five quests, mostly Alliance. Horde players can enter but face a long trip and have fewer quests. Level range and one boss name differ between sources.

Key facts
- Name: Hall of Thanes; "Hall of Things" is on no page I read
- Levels: 13-18 (Blizzard, Wowhead, Warcraft Wiki, Icy Veins); Warcraft Tavern's list, which it says matches the in-game Looking For Group tool, says 13-20
- Place: five players, beneath Ironforge in Dun Morogh (Blizzard)
- Bosses: Faldrim Anvilmar, Magmatus, Plunder, Durgen Dirgehammer (Wowhead)
- Quests: five; Wowhead's guide lists levels 14 to 16, while its November 5 roundup and Warcraft Tavern list 9 or 10 as the level required
Is there a dungeon called the Hall of Things in WoW Forever?
No source I opened uses that name. Blizzard's October 20 article calls the dungeon beneath Ironforge the Hall of Thanes, the resting place of dwarven monarchs invaded by suspected Dark Iron dwarves. Our Hall of Thanes guide covers the entrance and bosses; this page adds quests and source conflicts.
Where is the Hall of Thanes and who can run it?
Wowhead's guide says to enter the High Seat in Ironforge, take the open door to Old Ironforge on the left and follow the path to the bottom. Horde players must travel from Tarren Mill through Arathi Highlands, the Wetlands and Loch Modan, past Ironforge guards. Warcraft Tavern says Horde can complete the dungeon but gets no quests inside. See dungeon groups.
What are the Hall of Thanes quests and their levels?
Wowhead's September 29 guide gives these quest levels and starts. Its November 5 quest roundup and Warcraft Tavern instead list 9 or 10, which Tavern labels the level required to accept (see also the nine new dungeons):
- Important Heirlooms (14): Thom Filch; collect 8 Dwarven Heirlooms.
- The Restless Dead (15): Afadra Dunwall; kill 15 Enraged Apparitions and 10 Tormented Souls (Warcraft Tavern).
- Old Ironforge Incursion (15): Earthseer Farsen in Dun Morogh, after a prerequisite from a Dark Iron Map; the head of the final boss goes to King Magni Bronzebeard (Warcraft Tavern).
- An Ancient Grudge (14): the Ghostly Attendant in Anvilmar's Rest; kill Faldrim Anvilmar (Warcraft Tavern).
- The Treaty of Understanding (16): an item in a vault in the Reliquary of Kings.
More in dungeon quests for XP.
What do the bosses do?
Wowhead lists Mind Blast and a 10-minute curse for Faldrim Anvilmar, Combust for Magmatus, a Knockback for Plunder, and an area Fear and Rend for Durgen Dirgehammer.
Where do the sources disagree?
- Level range: Warcraft Tavern's dungeon list and guide say 13-20 and call the list a match for the in-game Looking For Group tool; Blizzard, Wowhead, RankedBoost, Icy Veins and Warcraft Wiki say 13-18; a Wowhead reader comment says 13-16.
- Second boss: RankedBoost lists Infurnus where the others list Magmatus.
- Quest factions: Wowhead says An Ancient Grudge and Important Heirlooms are open to both sides; Warcraft Tavern says Horde get no quests inside; Warcraft Wiki mentions only a neutral ghost's quest.
What is not confirmed yet
- Loot: Warcraft Wiki and Wowhead list different drops; I verified neither in game.
- The name: I cannot say where "Hall of Things" started; Wowhead and Warcraft Tavern both abbreviate the real name HoT.
Can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?
The free Lore Forever add-on prints a primer in chat when you enter a dungeon: an overview, why you are there and the bosses in order. Willo is a separate companion app for Windows 10 or 11 and Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 12 or later), per her page; her FAQ and the Lore Forever FAQ say Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still says Windows. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, and you can ask her out loud which quest to pick up first. She can be wrong and is not official; the quest text decides. Both are fan-made, not affiliated with Blizzard; the add-on has no internet access.
