Warsong clan

The Warsong clan is one of the most ferocious and legendary fighting forces among the orcs, formerly led by the revered chieftain Grommash Hellscream. Having survived exile, the internment camps, and demonic corruption, the clan now operates primarily in Ashenvale as the Warsong Outriders, fiercely securing lumber for the fledgling Horde while clashing ceaselessly with the night elves.

A Legacy of Defiance

Long before crossing into Azeroth, the Warsong forged their reputation across the open plains of Draenor through mobile wolf-rider tactics. After the Horde's defeat, while other orcs languished in Alliance internment camps, the Warsong evaded capture, wandering the wilderness and clinging to their warlike spirit until Thrall united with Hellscream to forge the New Horde.

Blood and Redemption

Upon arriving in Kalimdor during the Third War, Thrall ordered Hellscream and his clan into Ashenvale to harvest timber and establish an outpost. The intrusion enraged the night elves and the forest demigod Cenarius. Pushed to the brink of slaughter, the Warsong succumbed once more to the pit lord Mannoroth's demonic blood to prevail, slaying Cenarius in a frenzy of fel corruption. Thrall and his allies managed to purge Hellscream of the curse, culminating in a fateful showdown where Grom gave his life to destroy Mannoroth. His heroic sacrifice broke the demon blood curse forever, cementing the Warsong clan's place in Horde history.

The War for Ashenvale

In the present day, the clan continues Grommash's mission under the banner of the Warsong Outriders. From strongholds like Splintertree Post and active logging encampments, they harvest timber crucial for building the young Horde nation in the arid wastes of Durotar. Their presence has sparked a bitter territorial war with the night elven Silverwing Sentinels. Driven by their ancestral zeal, the Warsong show no sign of relinquishing Warsong Gulch, cutting deep into the ancient forest despite endless ambushes.
