Canals (Stormwind City)
The story
The Canals are a network of stone-lined waterways weaving through Stormwind City, separating its distinct districts. They serve as quiet thoroughfares for pedestrians and anglers, while quietly harboring hidden hazards and the entrance to the city's prison.
The Canals link and define the districts of Stormwind, dividing the bustling markets of the Trade District from the aged alleys of Old Town, the cathedral gardens, and the Dwarven District. Stone bridges, archways, and waterside walkways frame quiet establishments like the Gallina Winery, tailor shops, and quiet residential homes. In addition to serving local merchants and recreational fishermen, the waterways conceal the fortified entrance to the Stockade, where Stormwind's most dangerous criminals and rebels are held beneath street level.
