Cask of Merlot
A Cask of Merlot is a barrel of fine red wine produced and sold in Stormwind City. It serves as one of several regional specialty liquors needed by the Lakeshire innkeeper during the supply shortages caused by the Blackrock orc invasion.
A Taste of the Capital
Harvested and fermented in the heart of the kingdom, this Cask of Merlot comes straight from the cellars of the Galina Winery, nestled along the canals bordering Stormwind's Trade District. Winemaker Roberto Pupellyverbos manages the vintages there, catering to the capital's more refined palates. Unlike the harsh moonshine of Duskwood or the rustic spirits brewed in Elwynn, the merlot represents the refined craft of human vintners operating under the relative safety of the city walls.
Restocking Lakeshire
When the Blackrock clan invaded the Redridge Mountains, supply routes fell apart, cutting Lakeshire off from its standard merchant shipments. Facing parched and terrified locals, Barkeep Daniels tasks willing couriers with undertaking a kingdom-wide run to restock his tavern's cellars. Procuring this cask ensures the defenders and refugees holding out by Lake Everstill have something gentle to wash down their rations.
