Is There a WoW Token or Character Boost in WoW Forever? What Blizzard Has Said
No: Blizzard developers said at BlizzCon 2026 that there are no plans for a WoW Token or paid character boosts in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), and reports say Blizzard is keeping the level cap at 60 indefinitely. Blizzard's reasoning, as reported by Warcraft Tavern, is that the journey matters more than the destination.
Quick answer: You cannot buy gold from Blizzard or skip the leveling road in Forever. "No plans" is a hedged phrase, so it could change, but as of October 24, 2026 nothing sanctioned exists for either. Gold comes from play, and levels from the road itself.

Some adventurers want the road shortened and some want the purse filled by a stranger's coin. Forever's answer, so far, is to let neither happen. If you want the gold, you will earn it from the ore, the herbs and the hides on your way, and if you want sixty levels, you will walk them.
Key facts
- WoW Token: no plans for it in Forever (Warcraft Tavern, citing a BlizzCon interview with developers Clay Stone and Nora Mills)
- Character boosts: no plans for paid boosts (Warcraft Tavern)
- Level cap: held at 60 indefinitely, with growth through horizontal progression (Digital Citizen, GameLuster)
- Real-money gold trading: Blizzard's Temporary Economy Hold limits trade, mail, guild banks and the Auction House for suspected accounts (Blizzard forums, October 13)
- Dungeon leveling: monster XP in dungeons was lowered and dungeon quest XP raised (Icy Veins, September 15)
- GDKP raids: reported as ruled out in a September 17 developer Q&A (COGconnected); not confirmed on a Blizzard page
Is there a WoW Token in WoW Forever?
No. Warcraft Tavern reports that Clay Stone and Nora Mills of the WoW Classic team confirmed in a BlizzCon interview that Forever will not have WoW Tokens or character boosts. The outlet's report says "no plans," and it warns that the wording could change depending on reception and longevity.
COGconnected, writing on October 19, also attributes the missing Token to a developer interview and says Blizzard has published no sanctioned way to convert real money into gold in Forever, so prices are set only by in-game supply and demand. That is the author's reading. See the gold making guide and the Auction House guide.
Are there character boosts in WoW Forever?
No paid boosts are planned. Warcraft Tavern says Stone put the journey ahead of the destination in Forever and said players get better at the game by playing it. Blizzard also changed how people level: Icy Veins reports that dungeon kill XP was substantially reduced and dungeon quest XP significantly increased, with Blizzard's intent that repeating dungeons should not be the best leveling route.
Icy Veins does not mention boosting. HostedGG, a commercial site, calls the change a "deliberate tax" on repeated boost-style dungeon runs and credits Massively Overpowered for an anti-boosting goal; we could not open that source, so treat the link to boosting as unconfirmed. For the road itself, read the leveling guide and the dungeon groups guide.
Is the level cap in WoW Forever staying at 60?
Yes, according to current reporting. Digital Citizen says Forever keeps its cap permanently at 60 and will rely more on horizontal progression than on adding ten levels per expansion, through new zones for any level range, alternate characters, account-wide systems and new raids. GameLuster likewise says the cap stays at 60 indefinitely rather than opening onto a new expansion tier, and Tech Times repeats it.
The beta was capped at level 30. Growth after 60 is meant to come sideways, through the Legacy system and new content.
What happens to people who buy gold in WoW Forever?
COGconnected says Blizzard does not endorse buying gold from third parties, and Blizzard has said what it does about it. On October 13 Blizzard posted on its forums that an account suspected of involvement in real-money trade can face a Temporary Economy Hold, with restricted use of trade, mail, guild banks and the Auction House while it is in place. COGconnected adds that nothing suggests buying gold is risk-free.
The honest route is the slow one: mining, herbalism, skinning and selling. Our gold farming guide and mining guide cover it. The free Lore Forever add-on shows zone background as you gather, and the optional Willo voice companion can tell you where the stories are. Both are fan-made.
What is not confirmed yet
- "No plans" is not a promise; Blizzard has not said the Token or boosts are permanently excluded.
- The interview was reported by outlets, and Blizzard has not published a Token or boost policy page that we could find.
- The GDKP ban is reported from a September 17 developer Q&A by COGconnected and HostedGG, with no written Blizzard page found.
- Gold prices at launch are unknown; COGconnected says any guide claiming firm Forever prices before launch is guessing.
- The beta was capped at level 30; levels 31 to 60 were not playable.
