WoW Forever Auction House Guide: Buying, Selling and Prices
The WoW Forever auction house is a player market that you can use to sell spare materials and gear for more than a vendor pays, but Blizzard has not published its fees, deposits or limits. What we know comes from beta observations and community sites, and those sources disagree on some numbers. This guide separates what is reported from what is assumed, so you can start small and learn the real costs at launch on November 4, 2026.
Quick answer: List only surplus items after your own professions are supplied, compare against the vendor price first, and start with small listings. Treat fee numbers as unconfirmed until launch. Stackable goods are bought by quantity at the cheapest price, and gear is listed one item at a time.

What is known and what is not
Community guides give most of the detail here, so we mark each point by how strong it is.
- Reported from the beta: stackable goods are priced per unit; gear shows its random suffix; the interface lists durations of 12, 24 and 48 hours (Hearthproof reads these from the client, and Classic offered 2, 8 and 24 hours).
- Assumed from Classic: the house cut (5% at faction houses and 15% at neutral houses), how deposits work and mailed proceeds. Both AHLedger and Hearthproof call these Classic rules with no Forever change reported, which is not the same as confirmed.
- Not published: Hearthproof says Blizzard has published no Forever rates for fees, deposits or limits. If a site gives you a firm number, ask where it comes from.
- Disagreement between sources: AHLedger says there are 18 markets in one place and twelve in its introduction, so we do not repeat its market count.
Where you sell
Hearthproof, citing Blizzard, says Forever is realmless but not regionless, with one shared market per ruleset in each region, so Normal, PvP and RP are separate. The same guide expects faction houses and the three neutral houses (Booty Bay, Gadgetzan and Everlook) to work as in Classic, and reports that Zephras Isle's Valanaar has an auction house and a bank. A Black Market house was seen on the beta realm at Powderfuse Port, but Blizzard has not said how it works or whether it launches. Hardcore is not at launch. See the rulesets guide for the difference between realms.
Buying: stackable goods and gear
- Stackable goods (materials and consumables) are priced per unit. You enter a quantity and the house picks the cheapest units, possibly from several sellers, according to Hearthproof and the U4N guide.
- Gear is one item per listing. Random-suffix items show their suffix, and since October 15 the house shows an equippable-level column and suffix stats, Hearthproof reports, citing Blizzard.
- Enchants cannot be listed and are sold through the trade window, per Hearthproof's beta observations.
- Bind on pickup: some recipes and crafted set pieces bind, so they cannot be listed. Check the tooltip before you plan to sell a craft.
Selling: a simple routine
- Finish your own needs first. Hearthproof's advice is to list only surplus after your professions are supplied.
- Compare the vendor price with what similar listings cost.
- List a small batch, not your whole bag.
- Do not copy beta prices. Hearthproof notes that beta characters are wiped and few, so prices say little about launch.
- Recheck after a day and adjust gradually.
U4N, which sells gold and has its own interests, argues that undercutting by a tiny margin is not automatically useful on stackable goods. That is the author's opinion, and the same applies to its advice not to cancel over small undercuts. Use both as ideas to test rather than rules.
Our gold making guide covers other early income, and the professions guide explains what each profession can craft. Camping benefits also change what is worth selling, as described in the camping guide.
Addons and the rules
Hearthproof reports beta builds of Auctionator, Vendor Price Plus and Baganator, and says it found no Forever build of TradeSkillMaster or Postal. It also says posting, bidding, buying and cancelling are restricted, so addons can fill forms but cannot act for you. Our best addons guide tracks what is available.
Two Blizzard statements, as reported by Hearthproof: GDKP raids are not allowed, and Blizzard will punish gold buyers "very aggressively." Blizzard also says it will monitor the economy and adjust supply of scarce materials. The free Lore Forever add-on does not touch the economy and is fan-made.
