WoW Forever Camping Guide: Campfires, Camp Buffs and Professions
Camping is a WoW Forever system where players build a campfire in the world, add profession camp objects, and share buffs with anyone who sits nearby. Blizzard says it supports the full level 1 to 60 journey and lets other adventurers stop by and contribute through their professions. It turns professions into a social tool, not just a way to make items.
Quick answer: A cook builds a Basic Campfire. Each profession adds camp objects, such as a Sharpening Wheel, Faction Banner, Incense Candle, Alchemy Lab or Tanning Rack. Sitting nearby gives one-hour buffs. Campfires must be 100 yards apart.

How camping works
- Build the campfire. Cooks craft a Basic Campfire in the outdoor world.
- Add camp objects. Each profession has camp objects, placed at the campfire. Warcraft Tavern's guide says each profession has three tiers of objects, all giving the same profession buff plus unique utility.
- Sit nearby. Players close to the camp receive its buffs. Visitors can add their own professions' objects, so a group with different trades builds a fuller camp.
Camp objects share a cooldown, and campfires must be 100 yards apart, so you cannot stack many camps in one spot.
Which profession gives which buff
According to Warcraft Tavern's beta guide:
- Alchemy: Blessing of Wisdom
- Blacksmithing: Strength of Earth Totem
- Cooking: stamina food
- Enchanting: Mark of the Wild
- First Aid: Power Word: Fortitude
- Fishing: Blessing of Kings
- Herbalism: Arcane Intellect
- Leatherworking: Rested XP bonus
- Mining: Blessing of Might
- Skinning: Moonkin Aura
- Tailoring: Divine Spirit
- Engineering: no buff, but a reagent vendor (the Anarchist's Workbench)
Some objects are unique to camping, such as the Fermenter. Treat exact buff sizes as unconfirmed: the one Warcraft Tavern example is that Blessing of Kings gives 10 percent to all stats, while the camp version gives 8 percent.
Camp buffs versus class buffs
Camp buffs do not stack with the matching class buff and are slightly weaker. So a Paladin's Blessing of Kings still wins if you have one in your group. Camping matters most when you do not have that class around: solo players and small groups that have no one to cast the matching class buff.
Who benefits most
- Solo leveling players get buffs that would otherwise need a full group.
- Crafters have a reason to bring their profession even at low skill.
- Friends and guilds can plan a camp where each person adds an object.
A simple first camp
- Learn Cooking, which every character can take.
- Find an open area away from other campfires (100 yards is the minimum).
- Build a Basic Campfire.
- Ask a friend with a gathering or crafting profession to add an object.
- Sit nearby and check the buffs on your character.
For pairs that complement each other at a camp, see the professions guide.
What is not confirmed
Blizzard has not published every camp object, exact buff values or the full cooldown rules, and Warcraft Tavern's list comes from the beta. After launch some buffs may change. This guide will be reviewed once players test the live game.
