WoW Forever Tier Sets: Quest Chain and Group Content Explained
In World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), a raid's Tier Token does not give you a tier piece directly: it starts a series of quests that ends with the piece, and Blizzard's launch overview says you cannot finish those quests entirely on your own. Wowhead reported this from Blizzard's launch overview video; the raids do not open until December 9, as of November 6, 2026.
Quick answer: Beat a raid boss, get a Tier Token, then find the quest that turns it into a Tier Piece. Some steps need a group. How many quests, which steps and which raid drops which piece have not been published; the sets Wowhead shows are datamined and may change.

Key facts
- Raids open: December 9, level 60: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, Onyxia's Lair (Blizzard)
- Token: a Tier Token opens "a new adventure" that ends in a Tier Piece (Blizzard's overview text, quoted by Wowhead)
- Group content: the quests cannot be completed entirely alone (same text)
- Set bonuses: raids drop tier pieces with bonuses for wearing several of one set (Wowhead)
How does the tier set quest chain work in WoW Forever?
Wowhead's news item says that in the launch overview video Blizzard described Tier Tokens that unlock a series of quests ending with the player earning a Tier Piece. The passage Wowhead quotes says you "need to seek out how to start a quest" and that, like dungeons and raids, you will not finish them completely on your own. Wowhead adds its own reading: it "looks to be more involved", with multiple quests and some steps requiring group content. That is Wowhead's interpretation, not a Blizzard list of steps.
What needs group content?
Nobody has published the steps. Blizzard's text compares the quests to dungeons and raids, which is why Wowhead concludes that parts of the chain need a group. Whether that means a dungeon, a raid boss or just another player nearby is not stated on any page opened for this article. The looking for group guide covers finding people.
Do I get one token per piece?
Not confirmed. A November 3 Blizzard forum thread by a player, AlexStorm, says the chain repeats for each tier piece. Wowhead's news item does not say so, and the first page of neither thread showed a reply from Blizzard staff.
What do players think of it?
These are player opinions only. In two November 3 forum threads, some players like that it sends raiders back into dungeons and compare it to an attunement. Others worry about repeating quests for every piece, about getting invited as a damage dealer, and about busywork.
What do the tier sets look like?
Wowhead's Tier Set Overview for Season 1 (by Serenal, updated November 4 for Patch 1.60.1) lists sets and set bonuses for Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior. The page says the information is datamined, includes placeholders and may change. One commenter says those sets are the crafted versions from the Mount Hyjal faction, not the token sets: a single unverified comment.
What is not confirmed yet
- Number of quests and steps: not published
- Which steps need a group, and how big: not published
- Which raid drops which tier piece: not published
- Whether each piece needs its own token: player reading only
- Final set bonuses: datamined, placeholders per Wowhead
Can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?
The free Lore Forever add-on puts a Lore button on quests, so a tier quest can show its story. Willo is a separate companion app for Windows 10 or 11 and Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 12 or later), per her page; her FAQ and the Lore Forever FAQ say Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still calls her a Windows app. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, and you can ask her out loud while you play. She can be wrong, and the in-game quest text and Blizzard's pages are the source of truth. The add-on has no internet access, its narration uses generated voices, and both are fan-made and not affiliated with Blizzard.
