WoW Forever Raid Bosses List: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal, Onyxia

World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) has 22 raid bosses across its first three raids: eight in Barrow Deeps, 13 in Hyjal Summit and one, Onyxia, in Onyxia's Lair. Blizzard's raid overview gives those counts but names only Onyxia; the other names come from Warcraft Tavern and Warcraft Wiki, and sources disagree in places. The raids open December 9, 2026.

Quick answer: Barrow Deeps lists eight bosses from Deepscar Matriarch to Sonya Darkhallow, and Hyjal Summit lists 13 from Bandalar to Nythus. Treat the names and their order as reported, not official: Blizzard names none of them, and one site's Barrow Deeps list differs.

WoW Forever raid boss counts: Barrow Deeps 8 bosses for 10 players, Hyjal Summit 13 bosses for 20 players, Onyxia's Lair 1 boss in 3 phases for 40 players; names come from Warcraft Tavern and Warcraft Wiki, not Blizzard.
Boss counts from Blizzard's raid overview; names from Warcraft Tavern and Warcraft Wiki, read November 6, 2026.

Key facts

  • Barrow Deeps: 8 bosses, 10 players (Blizzard)
  • Hyjal Summit: 13 bosses, 20 players, opens with a battle against an ancient guardian (Blizzard)
  • Onyxia's Lair: 1 boss in three phases, 40 players (Blizzard)
  • Boss names: Warcraft Tavern, Warcraft Wiki and Method; none from Blizzard except Onyxia

What are the Barrow Deeps bosses?

Warcraft Tavern's raid guide lists, in this order: Deepscar Matriarch, Khalith the Dreadspinner, Amethrax, Ravus and Darlissa, Elder Tangleclaw, Well of Sorrow, Del'lynar Songwood and Sonya Darkhallow. Warcraft Wiki's encounter list has the same eight in the same order and marks Sonya Darkhallow as the end boss. Method names the same eight and says Sonya Darkhallow looks to be the final boss. See the Barrow Deeps guide.

One source differs. RankedBoost opens its Barrow Deeps list with Chillhowl, a name no other source I opened uses, and orders the rest differently. I do not know which list matches the game.

What are the Hyjal Summit bosses?

Warcraft Tavern lists 13: Bandalar, Time-Lost Battalion, Old Gloomlurker, Kathris the Haunted, Elder Minderei, Council of Thorns, The Wild King, Ancient of Decay, Sylvestris Dusksong, Gharalis the Abyssal, Anara Chillwind, Tracker Stillwind and Nythus the Dreadbound. Warcraft Wiki lists the same 13 in the same order, with small spelling differences (Minderel, Sylvesteris, Dreambound), and calls Nythus the end boss.

Method lists the same 13 bosses, spelling Minderel and Dreambound like the wiki, in a different order, and calls The Wild King the final boss. Method says the names come from Forever's Legacy challenges. So the last boss is disputed, and the list order is not a kill order: Blizzard says the raid begins with an ancient guardian and then lets groups choose among several routes. See the Hyjal Summit guide and the Mount Hyjal guide.

Who is the boss of Onyxia's Lair?

Onyxia, a dragon of the Black Dragonflight and the younger sister of Nefarian, per Blizzard. The fight has three phases with strong fire attacks, and Blizzard advises building fire resistance beforehand. Each raider needs the Drakefire Amulet in their bags; see the attunement guide and Onyxia's story.

What do the bosses drop and how do they fight?

No source I opened describes boss mechanics or loot tables. Gfinity and RankedBoost say tier sets come from the new raids, and Icy Veins says every boss will have rare "chase items," but none gives a drop list. Loot rules are in raid size and loot rules.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Official boss names and order for Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit; the lists above are third-party.
  • The final boss of Hyjal Summit (Nythus the Dreadbound or Dreambound: listed last by Tavern, end boss per the wiki; The Wild King per Method).
  • The first Barrow Deeps boss: Deepscar Matriarch (Tavern, wiki) or Chillhowl (RankedBoost).
  • Mechanics and loot for every boss; the raids are closed until December 9.

How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help before the raids open?

The free Lore Forever add-on is fan-made and not affiliated with Blizzard; it has no internet access and its narration uses generated voices. It covers the story of the zones and dungeons you pass on the way to level 60. Willo is a separate companion app for Windows 10 or 11 and Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 12 or later), per her page; her FAQ and the Lore Forever FAQ say Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still calls her a Windows app. Ask her out loud who a boss is while you play, free to start with 50 answers a day. She can be wrong, so check names against Blizzard once the raids open.
