WoW Forever Has No Summoning Stones: How to Reach a Dungeon

Meeting Stones do not summon players in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), so every member of a dungeon group has to travel to the entrance, according to Warcraft Tavern's BlizzCon demo coverage. The same report says a Warlock's Ritual of Summoning is currently the only way to summon, and it needs two more party members at the entrance.

Quick answer: Form your group with the Looking For Group window, travel to the dungeon's zone by hearthstone, Mage portal, flight taxi or on foot, and meet at the entrance. A Warlock can summon one party member with help from two others. Nobody is teleported for you.

Reaching a dungeon in WoW Forever in six steps: form a group, travel to the zone by hearthstone, portal or flight path, cross the sea by ship or zeppelin if needed, walk to the entrance, use a Warlock summon if you have one, and enter together because Meeting Stones do not summon.

Warcraft Tavern's September 14 report says Meeting Stones did not summon in Vanilla WoW either, and that they do not work that way in WoW Forever.

Key facts

  • Meeting Stones: do not summon players; Warcraft Tavern's dungeons guide says "Meeting Stones can't be used to summon players in WoW Forever."

  • Warlock summon: Ritual of Summoning is currently the only summon, and it needs two additional party members present (Warcraft Tavern)
  • Travel rule: players must physically travel to dungeon and raid entrances (Warcraft Tavern)
  • First mount: level 40, about 100 gold for the mount and riding training (MeinMMO, October 21, 2026)

  • Other continents: without Mage or Warlock help, only by zeppelin or ship; large portal rooms do not exist (MeinMMO)

Are there summoning stones in WoW Forever?

No, according to Warcraft Tavern. Its September 14, 2026 report from the BlizzCon demo says Meeting Stones do not summon players and that there is no Group Finder that forms parties and teleports them, adding that "neither of these features is currently present in the game." The article does not name a Blizzard speaker. Its dungeons guide repeats the Meeting Stone point in a single line. On the Looking For Group interface the report says there is one, but it is the version that exists in WoW Classic: it organizes groups and does not form them automatically or teleport anyone, and the author does not expect a more automated Dungeon Finder in this version. Method's UI guide lists the I key for Looking For Group in a table headed "OLD". See the looking for group guide for what is known about finding a party.

How do you get to a dungeon without a summon?

Warcraft Tavern's dungeons guide puts it plainly: "Most of the time, you'll just need to hoof it." It names the zone for each dungeon: Gnomeregan in Dun Morogh, Razorfen Kraul and Razorfen Downs in the Barrens, Uldaman in the Badlands, Zul'Farrak in Tanaris, Maraudon in Desolace, and the Stockade in Stormwind City. It gives no coordinates on that page. The dungeons guide lists the dungeons and the dungeon groups guide covers how parties form.

What are the fastest ways to travel?

MeinMMO's beginner guide, Karsten Scholz writing on October 21, 2026, ranks them: after the hearthstone, a Mage portal and Warlock summoning, the flight taxi is the fastest way. It advises activating every flight point you pass and binding your hearthstone somewhere useful. MeinMMO says that without Warlock or Mage help you can only reach another continent by zeppelin or ship, and that large portal rooms like those in modern WoW do not exist in Forever. MeinMMO says your first mount comes at level 40, with druids and shamans using travel forms before then, and puts the first mount and riding at about 100 gold and epic riding near 1,000 gold at level 60. The travel guide and mounts guide cover the rest.

How does the Warlock summon work?

Warcraft Tavern says Ritual of Summoning is currently the only way to summon a player and that it requires two additional party members at the location. Warcraft Tavern's dungeons guide adds that the Warlock and two other party members must already be near the dungeon entrance. Read the Warlock guide for the class. The free Lore Forever add-on shows readable zone and quest background while you travel; it is fan-made.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Final design: Warcraft Tavern describes the missing features as "currently" absent, so this may change before launch.
  • Group finder: the report's author does not expect a more automated Dungeon Finder, but the report calls the missing features "currently" absent; no source I opened shows a final answer.
  • Speaker: the report does not name which Blizzard developer said this.
  • Coordinates: no opened source gives dungeon entrance coordinates.
