WoW Forever Guild Ranks and Permissions: What Is Known So Far
In World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), one source reading the game files reports a Guild Master and officers, but no source I opened lists Forever's default ranks, how many rank slots there are, or every permission, as of November 6, 2026. For Classic, Guild Order describes ten rank slots with per-rank permissions; Forever may differ.
Quick answer: Client data points to a Guild Master and officers. Guild Order lists per-rank permissions such as invite, kick, promote, guild chat and officer chat for Classic. Forever's rank count and permission list are unpublished.

See the guilds guide, the guild bank guide and how to find a guild.
Key facts
- Roles in Forever: Guild Master and officers (Bind on Forever, from client data, October 27)
- Classic rank slots: ten, with names you can change (Guild Order, August 2026)
- Classic permissions: invite, kick, promote, guild chat, officer chat, guild bank access where a bank exists (Guild Order)
- Forever rank count and defaults: not published
What ranks and permissions does WoW Forever have?
Bind on Forever (October 27) read the game client and reports that a Guild Master and officers exist, and that officers can be granted a permission called Link Guild Chat to Discord. It lists other ranks and permission details as unknown. That is client data, not a play report. Blizzard's launch post mentions Discord account linking and guild chat mirroring for Forever but not who sets it up. WoW Forever Tier List (updated November 4) lists Forever's guild ranks among things Blizzard has not addressed.
How many guild ranks are there in Classic?
Guild Order's Classic page (published August 6, updated August 31, 2026) says a guild has ten rank slots with customizable names, and a permission set per rank: invite, kick, promote, guild chat, officer chat and guild bank access where a bank exists. It suggests a recruit rank without invite rights. That is Classic guidance, not confirmed for Forever.
How do ranks work in modern WoW?
The Warcraft Wiki's guild page names no game version; its patch history runs to 11.1.5, so it reads as modern WoW, not Forever. It lists five default ranks (Initiate, Member, Veteran, Officer, Leader), allows between five and ten ranks, and says only the Leader can disband the guild or promote members to Officer. Its guild list page, which it marks outdated, says only the leader changes rank privileges and each promote or demote reaches only one rank below the promoter. Treat this as a hint, not a Forever fact.
What if I cannot change someone's rank?
Blizzard Support's article on being unable to edit a member's rank (game version not stated) suggests: confirm your rank may modify other ranks; add a new rank; delete and recreate the problem rank; change its rank number; wait one weekly reset if everyone is affected; reset your interface if only you are; then contact support. Its step about confirming a new Guild Master is on the guild's realm may not apply to Forever, which Blizzard describes as realmless.
Can a guild skip traditional ranks?
One guild says it does. A player-run Alliance RP-PvP guild recruiting on Blizzard's forum on November 5 says it has no traditional officer hierarchy and instead uses volunteer "Pillars". That is one guild's own structure, not a game feature.
What is not confirmed yet
- Rank count and default rank names in Forever.
- The full permission list, including bank rights per rank and per tab.
- Which rank can set up Discord guild chat mirroring.
- How to open the guild window: no Forever source; check the in-game menu.
Can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?
Neither changes guild settings. When the guild window confuses you, ask Willo out loud, for example "what can officers do in a guild". She can be wrong and is not official, so check the in-game window and Blizzard's pages. Willo is free to start (50 answers a day) and is a separate companion app for Windows 10 or 11 and Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 12 or later), per her page; her FAQ and the Lore Forever FAQ say Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still calls her a Windows app. The free Lore Forever add-on is fan-made, not affiliated with Blizzard, has no internet access, and narrates with generated voices.
