WoW Forever Guilds: Charters, Factions, Raids and What Is Unconfirmed

A guild in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) is founded with a charter that other players sign, and its members can only group and raid with others on the same ruleset. As of October 27, 2026, no source opened for this guide shows a published guild size limit, charter price or Classic guild transfer, so much of what players ask about guilds is still unconfirmed.

Quick answer: To found a guild, buy a charter and collect signatures, though the beta let players hand in a charter with none because of a known bug. Players can only group and raid with others on the same ruleset, and Horde and Alliance cannot group. Guild bank, size and cost details are not confirmed.

What is known about WoW Forever guilds
Six-step guild map as of October 27, 2026: buy a charter, collect signatures (the beta let charters be handed in unsigned as a temporary fix), stay within one ruleset, Horde and Alliance cannot group, raids begin December 9 with 10 and 20 player sizes, and guild bank, size and charter cost are unconfirmed. Sources: Blizzard forums, CoGM, Guild Order, WoW Forever Guides.

A guild is a banner raised over a company of strangers who decide to share a road. In Azeroth it begins small, a few signatures on a charter and a name that nobody else has taken.

How do you create a guild in WoW Forever?

Every banner needs its first hands. CoGM's guild guide says guilds are founded with a charter that other players sign. In a Blizzard forum thread from September 17 to 20, 2026, beta testers reported errors when trying to sign charters, and a Blizzard known-issues post linked there said players may be unable to sign them and that, as a temporary workaround, a charter could be handed in with no signatures.

WoW Forever Guides adds that an October 3 data extraction of beta build 1.60.1.70205 shows registrar text asking for a purchased charter and nine unique signatures. The page calls this a client string, not proof of the current server rule, so treat nine signatures as a lead rather than a fact.

Can Horde and Alliance share a guild?

The sources do not say, and the closest rule points one way. WoW Forever Guides quotes Blizzard's ruleset article saying Horde and Alliance cannot group, then notes the article does not say whether this applies to guild invites. CoGM likewise lists cross-faction membership as unconfirmed. On the PvP ruleset, CoGM says an account can create characters of only one faction. Read the ruleset guide and the Alliance vs Horde guide for the wider picture.

Do guilds need the same ruleset?

For play, yes. CoGM reports that players can only group, run dungeons and raid with others on the same ruleset, and that characters cannot move between rulesets. The four rulesets are Normal, PvP, Roleplaying and Hardcore, which arrives some time after launch. Battlegrounds can mix rulesets except Hardcore. See the Hardcore ruleset guide and the RP-PvP ruleset guide.

What do guilds raid in WoW Forever?

Guild Order lists the first two raids as Barrow Deeps for 10 players and Hyjal Summit for 20, both opening December 9, and CoGM, citing Blizzard designers via Kotaku, says every raid tier has at least a 10 and a 20 player raid, some adding 40, with no flex raiding. CoGM also reports that Blizzard said at BlizzCon 2026 that GDKP loot systems will not be allowed, and that a later interview limited that ban to North American and European realms. Read the raids guide, and for smaller groups the dungeon groups guide.

Can a Classic guild move to WoW Forever?

Not as a transfer. Guild Order's guide, updated September 23, 2026, says Blizzard has not published a character transfer, gold or gear carryover or any changes to the guild system. It treats moving as re-founding the guild with new characters and a new charter, and advises exporting the roster and loot history outside the game. The free Lore Forever add-on is a fan-made zone and quest companion.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Charter price, and whether nine signatures is the current requirement.
  • Whether Forever has a guild bank, what its tabs would cost and its withdrawal limits.
  • Guild size limits.
  • Whether guild membership, not only grouping, is split by faction.
  • Whether guild names from Classic can be kept; Guild Order says guild naming changes are unpublished.
