Will WoW Forever Dungeons Be Buffed? Dungeon XP, Nov 6
Will dungeons be buffed in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever)? As of November 6, 2026, I found no Blizzard dungeon change announced since launch: its last dungeon XP changes were two beta builds, on October 1 (dungeon quest bonus XP cut by 50%) and October 8 (kill XP in dungeons raised by about 20%). In the "Can we buff dungeons yet?" thread, "buff" means more reason and reward to run dungeons, mainly experience, not harder bosses.
Quick answer: No buff has been announced. In the beta, senior designer Josh Greenfield wrote that Blizzard needs to hold firm on its balance adjustments, and I saw no staff reply in the forum threads I read on November 6. Treat any "buff incoming" claim as a rumour.

Key facts
- October 1 beta build: dungeon quests give 50% less extra experience beyond normal quest values (Blizzard Beta Development Notes)
- October 8 beta build: dungeon kill XP up by approximately 20%, plus a group XP bug fix (Blizzard Beta Development Notes)
- Stated goal: dungeon leveling close to or equal to optimal questing (Wowhead, on Blizzard's podcast)
- Since launch: the November 5 hotfixes and known-issues thread mention no dungeon XP change (Blizzard)
What does "buff dungeons" mean in WoW Forever?
On the Blizzard forums, the November 6 thread "Can we buff dungeons yet?" is about the value of dungeons: experience and reasons to repeat them. Difficulty is separate: Warcraft Tavern says there are no Heroic or Mythic dungeons. The thread "Is it just me, or is WoW Forever way too easy?" (no staff reply in the posts I read) covers leveling and encounters generally; see is WoW Forever too easy.
What did Blizzard change about dungeon XP?
Blizzard's Kaivax posted the beta notes. The October 1 build made dungeon quests "reward 50% less extra experience beyond normal quest values." The October 8 build raised dungeon kill XP by approximately 20% and fixed a bug that cut XP for players grouped with higher-level characters. On September 14 Warcraft Tavern quoted a Blizzard developer saying kill XP in dungeons was brought "way down."
PC Gamer's Harvey Randall (October 2) measured 3,100 XP for the Wailing Caverns quest Deviate Hides, against 1,600 in Classic and about 4,650 before the cut: one beta quest.
What has Blizzard said about buffing dungeons?
Wowhead reports that on episode 3 of Blizzard's WoW: Forever Podcast, senior game designer Rowan Ryder said dungeons should not be one-and-done and that "just grinding dungeons isn't the optimal way to play." PC Gamer (October 8) quotes senior game designer Josh Greenfield, who posted on X: "We need to hold firm on these balance adjustments." Both are from the beta; I found no Blizzard post about dungeon XP after launch.
What are players asking for now?
The November 6 thread's opening post asks Blizzard to revisit dungeons, saying they give little reason to repeat them. Replies split: one rejects the idea; others cite gear and social reasons to run dungeons. These are player opinions. TimeSaver, a site that sells boosting, said on November 5 that launch used the beta rules and a full revert looked unlikely; that is its view, not Blizzard's.
What can you do while you wait?
Method's November 1 party guide says to do each dungeon once when you have quests for it; repeated runs are not that effective. See dungeon quests for XP, leveling in a group and dungeon level ranges.
What is not confirmed yet
- Whether launch values equal the October 8 beta values: no page I opened states them.
- Whether Blizzard plans a change.
- How the level 35 to 60 dungeons pay: no source I opened gives it.
How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?
The free Lore Forever add-on, fan-made and not affiliated with Blizzard, has no internet access; entering a dungeon prints its primer in chat. Willo is a separate companion app for Windows 10 or 11 and Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 12 or later), per her page; her FAQ and the Lore Forever FAQ say Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still calls her a Windows app. Ask her which dungeon fits your level; she is free to start with 50 answers a day and can be wrong, so the in-game level range decides.
