Priest
Priests are spiritual guides and conduits of immense unseen power who shape belief, mend flesh, and guard souls. Channeling the radiant energies of faith or plumbing the terrifying depths of the Void, they serve as the vital heart of any war party. Across Azeroth, their traditions range from the Church of the Holy Light to the Moon Goddess's Sisterhood and shadowy Forsaken cults.
Vessels of Faith and Devotion
Priests guide the spiritual destiny of their communities. While physical combatants test their mettle with steel, priests draw power directly from conviction. Through divine connection, they soothe grievous wounds, raise fallen companions from death's threshold, and weave mystic barriers to repel incoming harm. Their presence on the field often marks the difference between survival and annihilation.
Light and Shadow
The priesthood is not solely an instrument of benevolence. Just as life holds both illumination and darkness, the priest walks a perilous line between divine restoration and mental devastation. Those who master the holy arts call down searing righteous vengeance to smite enemies, while practitioners of Shadow magic delve into the Void to dominate minds, twist willpower, and inflict agonizing pain from afar.
A Tapestry of Faiths
No single faith defines Azeroth's priests. Among humans, dwarves and gnomes, the Church of the Holy Light codifies a philosophy of virtue, having adapted its fragile Clerics of Northshire into a hardened order after the First War. In Kalimdor, the night elven Sisterhood of Elune honors the Mother Moon with starlight and grace, while troll witch doctors beseech the primal Loa. Among the newly risen Forsaken, many have turned from former dogmas toward the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow, preaching that darkness and light must exist in delicate equilibrium.
