Gnome

Small in stature but towering in intellect, gnomes approach the world with boundless curiosity and scientific ambition. While other races focus on recording histories and preserving traditions, gnomes look relentlessly forward, dedicating their lives to mechanical engineering, arcane studies, and technological innovation. Their inventions—ranging from clockwork devices and flying machines to complex subterranean trains—have shaped the modern world. Even after devastating hardships, gnomefolk maintain an irrepressible cheerfulness and an unshakable drive to rebuild and solve the impossible.

The gnomes made their home in the frozen crags of Dun Morogh, and when they met the dwarves of Ironforge, the two peoples discovered an immediate kinship. Dwarven brawn and gnomish ingenuity united to carve out the marvelous subterranean techno-city of Gnomeregan in western Dun Morogh, where the gnomes are led by visionary leaders known as High Tinkers.

The surviving gnomes fled their poisoned home, finding sanctuary among their dwarven cousins in Ironforge. High Tinker Mekkatorque and his people established a bustling enclave in Ironforge's Tinker Town, continuing to support the Alliance and oversee the Deeprun Tram linking Ironforge to Stormwind. From this adopted quarter, gnomish commandos and brave volunteers constantly mount expeditions into Gnomeregan's irradiated depths, striving to clear out the troggs, deal with mechanical abominations, and someday reclaim their grand city.
