Llane Wrynn I
King Llane Wrynn I was the ruler of Stormwind during the catastrophic First War, whose reign ended with the fall of the kingdom and his own tragic murder. A beloved and proud monarch, his steadfast refusal to believe his friend Medivh had betrayed humanity ultimately doomed his defense of the capital.
A Prince of Reckless Valor
Born to King Barathen Wrynn, young Prince Llane grew up alongside Anduin Lothar and Medivh. In their youth, the three companions ventured into the jungles of Stranglethorn Vale and clashed with the Gurubashi trolls there. In time, Llane ascended to the throne as Stormwind's king.
The First War
When mysterious, green-skinned creatures emerged from the southern swamps, King Llane dispatched Lothar to investigate the Black Morass. What began as minor skirmishes erupted into the First War as the Horde overran the forests of Duskwood, Westfall, and Redridge. Messengers sent to Lordaeron and other northern human kingdoms were dismissed, their pleas undermined by Stormwind's historic isolationism and aristocratic intrigue. Despite these disadvantages, Llane organized an audacious counterattack alongside Lothar that broke the Horde's initial siege of Stormwind, dealing the invaders their first major defeat.
