Greymane Wall
The story
The Greymane Wall is a massive stone bulwark spanning the southern frontier of Silverpine Forest. Built by King Genn Greymane after the Second War, it seals the kingdom of Gilneas away from the outside world behind impenetrable, locked gates.
Following the Second War, King Genn Greymane grew resentful of the Alliance of Lordaeron, particularly the taxes required to maintain the orc internment camps and build Nethergarde Keep. Deciding Gilneas had given enough of its coin and blood for foreign troubles, Greymane withdrew from the Alliance and ordered a colossal barrier raised across the head of the peninsula. In doing so, he abandoned lands belonging to Lord Darius Crowley—including Pyrewood Village and Ambermill—leaving them stranded on the northern side of the stones. When the Third War brought the Plague of Undeath and countless desperate refugees to its foot, the gates remained pitilessly barred.
