Demon Fall Canyon

Demon Fall Canyon is a scarred, fel-corrupted gorge situated in southern Ashenvale. It marks the legendary battleground where Grommash Hellscream and Thrall confronted the pit lord Mannoroth, ending the demonic blood curse that had enslaved the orcish race for a generation.

Carved into the rugged southern borders of Ashenvale near Felfire Hill and Demon Fall Ridge, this canyon bears the heavy scars of the Third War. It was here that Warchief Thrall and chieftain Grommash Hellscream tracked down the pit lord Mannoroth to break his hold over the Horde. During the fierce duel, Mannoroth incapacitated Thrall, but Grom seized the opening to drive his axe, Gorehowl, straight into the demon's chest. The resulting infernal explosion shattered the pit lord and slew Grom as well, permanently liberating the orcs from their lingering demonic servitude.
