Chillwind Camp

Chillwind Camp sits at the southern pass leading into the Western Plaguelands from the Alterac Mountains. Manned by an Alliance contingent working alongside the Argent Dawn, it serves as the final safe staging ground before the blighted ruins of Lordaeron. From this precarious outpost, commanders direct strikes against the nearby Scourge strongholds and plague cauldrons.

The Edge of the Blight

Tucked into the rocky pass descending from Chillwind Point, Chillwind Camp is the first line of defense and primary base of operations for Alliance forces pushing into the Western Plaguelands. Though physically separated from the worst of the corruption by the high mountain ridges, the dead chill of the north hangs heavily over the tents and palisades. Under Commander Ashlam Valorfist, a sparse garrison of soldiers, scouts, and Argent Dawn specialists attempts to contain the horrors lingering along the King's Road and gather the intelligence necessary to reclaim Lordaeron's fallen fields.

A War of Attrition

Lacking the standing armies required for a full-scale assault on Andorhal or the necromantic fortress of Scholomance, Chillwind Camp relies heavily on independent champions and mercenaries. Operations here focus on surgical guerilla strikes: gathering field intelligence on the Cult of the Damned, neutralizing the alchemical plague cauldrons poisoning the soil, and keeping supply corridors open to eastern outposts like Light's Hope Chapel. With the Scourge occupying the ruins just to the north and the Forsaken fortifying the western border, the camp's defenders fight simply to keep the pass from being overwhelmed.
