Sorrow Hill
Sorrow Hill is an expansive graveyard resting south of Andorhal in the Western Plaguelands. Once the final resting place for commoners, soldiers, and nobility alike, it has been corrupted by nearby plague cauldrons into a sprawling haven of restless undead.
A Burden of Graves
Before the Third War, Sorrow Hill served as the primary burial ground for the city of Andorhal and its surrounding townships. When the Scourge unleashed the Plague of Undeath, the gravediggers could not keep pace with the dead. Neatly kept crypts were soon surrounded by shallow, poorly marked earthen pits. Eventually, terrified survivors ceased traditional burials entirely, instead resorting to burning the corpses of their loved ones in a mass pyre to the south out of fear they would rise. Before the town fell completely, the remnants of the populace entombed Lord Uther the Lightbringer atop the cemetery's high ground, bestowing upon the hill its tragic name.
The Resurrected Dead
The Scourge's foul plague cauldrons across the region have long since corrupted Sorrow Hill. The interred soldiers and citizens now wander the mist-shrouded headstones as skeletal flayers and ravenous ghouls, while skeletal mages and a local Scourge commander nest in the southeastern crypts. Because the cemetery sits directly along the road between Chillwind Camp and Andorhal, both the Alliance and the Argent Dawn frequently order patrols to culled the ranks of undead here to maintain a vital foothold in the region.
