Uther's Tomb
Uther's Tomb is the sacred resting place of Uther the Lightbringer, situated atop Sorrow Hill in the Western Plaguelands. Constructed by his surviving followers after his defeat at nearby Andorhal, this monument stands as one of the few remaining bastions of the Holy Light amidst a blighted and haunted region.
A Bastion in the Blight
Perched south of the ruins of Andorhal at Sorrow Hill, Uther's Tomb marks the final resting place of the legendary paladin who founded the Knights of the Silver Hand. Following the collapse of Lordaeron, Uther made his last stand in Andorhal, defending the royal urn holding the ashes of King Terenas Menethil II against Prince Arthas Menethil and the Scourge. Arthas struck down his former mentor and desecrated the urn to carry Kel'Thuzad's remains. Surviving soldiers salvaged Uther's body, laying him to rest within a stone sanctuary. Despite the relentless corruption engulfing the surrounding lands, the tomb remains miraculously untouched by decay, held under the steadfast vigil of High Priest Thel'danis.
The Lightbringer's Legacy
Approached via the Path of Uther, the monument centers on a grand stone effigy depicting the paladin with a tome of the Holy Light in one hand and his warhammer in the other. Pilgrims who travel these treacherous roads frequently seek out the tomb to pay homage, pray, or reflect upon the devotion that defined the first paladins.
