Chillwind Point
Chillwind Point is a rocky rise and ancient troll ruin sitting on the high frontier between the Alterac Mountains, Hillsbrad Foothills, and the Western Plaguelands. It gets its name from the freezing drafts howling through the mountain pass out of the blighted north. Today, it serves as a lonely vantage point inhabited primarily by a lone troll mystic.
A Bitter Crossroads
Perched on the borderlands where Hillsbrad gives way to Alterac and the plagued north, Chillwind Point looks out over the mountain ravine leading directly into the Western Plaguelands. Long before Lordaeron claimed these passes, ancient trolls built stone structures upon these heights, the remnants of which still stand weather-beaten against the elements. Today, cold winds blow south through the ravine, carrying the chill of the fallen north into the foothill valleys below.
The Windwatcher
Despite its bleak exposure and proximity to Scourge-ravaged lands, Chillwind Point is not entirely deserted. The ancient masonry provides shelter for Bath'rah the Windwatcher, a jungle troll hermit who communes with the violent gales coursing through the gap. Travelers and shamans venturing north often seek out his solitary camp amid the ruins to learn the secrets of the mountain currents.
