Ghamoo-ra

Ghamoo-ra is an ancient, giant sea turtle inhabiting the Pool of Ask'ar within Blackfathom Deeps. Once a peaceful denizen of Elune's sunken temple, he was captured, tortured, and driven mad by the Twilight's Hammer cult to serve as a vicious guardian.

Before the defilement of Blackfathom Deeps, Ghamoo-ra was among the last peaceful natural inhabitants dwelling among the flooded ruins of the night elven temple dedicated to Elune. When the nihilistic Twilight's Hammer cult took control of the sanctuary, they roused the ancient turtle from his quiet life and locked him in captivity. Rather than slain, he was systematically tormented for years, suffering mental and physical flaying at the hands of the cultists.
