Chimaeras are savage, twin-headed beasts known for their ferocity, but the elder matriarchs that prowl the Charred Vale in the Stonetalon Mountains bear horns forged unusually hard by ash, flame, and survival. While standard fledglings yield brittle, blackened horns, the matriarch's horn possesses a naturally tempered strength akin to treated metal. Both the dwarven armorer Furen Longbeard in Stormwind and Orm Stonehoof in Thunder Bluff covet the horn, requiring it as a test of martial valor and as a critical ingredient in crafting exceptional mail armor.
