WoW Forever Respec Guide: Where to Reset Talents, Costs and Dual Spec

To respec in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), visit your class trainer and choose "I wish to unlearn my class or legacy talents"; the first talent reset costs 1 gold, the second 5 gold, and later ones rise to a cap of 50 gold, according to Allthings.how's respec guide. Allthings.how says a Legacy talent reset at the same trainer costs 10 gold at the time of writing.

Quick answer: Go to the trainer for your class, talk, choose unlearn, confirm the price and your points come back. Dual Specialization is reported for level 40. Costs come from beta-era guides and may change at launch on November 4. Figures are as of October 25, 2026.

The WoW Forever respec steps: travel to your class trainer, talk to the trainer, choose unlearn class or legacy talents, then confirm the cost of 1 gold, 5 gold and up to 50 gold, with Legacy talents at 10 gold.
The respec path and reported gold costs. Costs are beta-era figures and may change at launch.

Every adventurer picks a path and, sooner or later, wonders about the road not taken. In Azeroth the answer is not a menu. It is a trainer who has taught your craft for years and will, for a price, help you forget it.

Key facts

  • Where: your class trainer, usually in a capital city; Horde Paladin trainers are in Deathknell, Brill and Bandarion Keep (Allthings.how; Warcraft Tavern)
  • Menu choice: "I wish to unlearn my class or legacy talents" (Allthings.how)
  • Cost: 1 gold first, 5 gold second, later resets rising to a 50 gold cap (Allthings.how)
  • Legacy talents: reset at the same trainer, 10 gold at the time of writing (Allthings.how; Warcraft Tavern)
  • Beta discount: 1 silver if you had not recently changed talents, beta only (Warcraft Tavern, September 24)
  • Dual Specialization: reported for level 40 at a class trainer (Warcraft Tavern; Finalboss; Warcraft Wiki)

Where do you respec talents in WoW Forever?

At your class trainer. Allthings.how's guide, updated September 21, says a trainer only covers the classes of that city's races, and its table lists, for example, Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff and Undercity for the Horde and Stormwind, Ironforge and Darnassus for the Alliance. Warcraft Tavern's class trainer guide lists exact districts, such as Cenarion Enclave for Darnassus druids and the Valley of Honor for Orgrimmar warriors and hunters.

Two details differ between those pages. Warcraft Tavern says Horde Paladin trainers are limited to Deathknell, Brill and Bandarion Keep in Tirisfal Glades, while Allthings.how lists Undercity for Paladins. Warcraft Tavern also says new Alliance Shaman trainers are limited to Coldridge Valley, Kharanos and Ironforge, and Allthings.how adds Stormwind. If you play a Forsaken Paladin or a Dwarf Shaman, check the in-game trainer list at launch.

How much does a respec cost?

Allthings.how reports 1 gold for the first talent respec, 5 gold for the second, and a rising price to a 50 gold cap. In the original game, Allakhazam says the unlearn cost rises in 5-gold steps to 50 gold and falls back one step per month; Forever's figures match that pattern, but Blizzard has not published its own table in anything I opened.

The beta changed the price. Warcraft Tavern's September 24 beta update says that if you had not recently changed your talents, a respec cost 1 silver, and that this was temporary for the beta. The same update says the next respec after that cost much more, then dropped back to 1 silver after one hour. The 1, 5 and 50 gold figures are the ones guides report for the live rules, and Blizzard has not confirmed them for launch. The talents guide explains when your first point arrives.

How do you reset Legacy talents?

Legacy Points are earned account-wide, but according to Warcraft Wiki's Forever page each character fills out its own Legacy trees and respecs them at class trainers. Warcraft Tavern says the reset is handled by your class trainer, and Allthings.how says the cost is 10 gold now and does not confirm whether it stays flat. Read the Legacy system guide for how points are earned.

What is Dual Specialization in WoW Forever?

Dual Specialization lets you keep two saved talent builds. Warcraft Tavern's trainer guide says it is purchased from a class trainer at level 40, and Finalboss says it unlocks at level 40. Warcraft Wiki's Forever page says it costs 10 gold, that you can swap freely outside combat or battlegrounds, and that each spec has its own respec fee that gradually drops to 1 gold. A seller site, Buyboost, says Blizzard confirmed the level but not the price. Allthings.how, updated September 21, called dual spec an expected later feature and said nothing is confirmed. For role planning, see the tanks and healers guide. The free Lore Forever add-on shows zone and quest background while you level.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Launch prices: Blizzard has not published respec costs; the figures above are from beta-era guides.
  • Legacy respec price: 10 gold may not stay flat.
  • Dual Specialization: Allthings.how disagrees with the level 40 reports, and the 10 gold price comes from Warcraft Wiki alone.
  • Trainer lists: Paladin and Shaman trainer locations differ between sources.
  • Beta limits: the beta capped at level 30, so level 40 features were not tested.
