How to Queue for Battlegrounds as a Group in WoW Forever

In World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) you can queue for a battleground in a premade group, and Wowhead says premade groups are matched against other premade groups. That comes from Wowhead's PvP guide (updated October 24, 2026); as of November 6, 2026, I found no page naming the exact queue button in the Forever client.

Quick answer: Make a party with friends on your own ruleset and faction, check that everyone fits the same level bracket, then queue at a battlemaster in a major city or at the battleground's portal in the open world. The first battleground opens at level 10 (Warsong Gulch).

Five steps to queue for a WoW Forever battleground as a group: party up on the same ruleset and faction, check the level bracket, go to a battlemaster or portal, queue as a group, and meet other premade groups; the exact queue button is unconfirmed.
Queuing for a battleground as a group, from Wowhead, Icy Veins and Blizzard, as of November 6, 2026.

Key facts

  • Group queue: premade groups can queue and face other premades (Wowhead, October 24)
  • Entry: the portal at the battleground's location, or a battlemaster in a major city (Wowhead)
  • First queue: level 10, Warsong Gulch only (Icy Veins, September 19)
  • Brackets: Warsong Gulch 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60; Arathi Basin from 20-29; Darkspear Islands from 30-39; Alterac Valley 51-60 (Wowhead and Icy Veins agree)
  • Party rule: characters group only within the same ruleset and faction (Blizzard)

Can you queue for battlegrounds with friends in WoW Forever?

Yes, according to Wowhead's PvP guide, which says you can queue in a premade group but will be matched against other premade groups. Icy Veins' PvP overview (September 19) tells new PvPers to play as a group and focus on objectives. See the battlegrounds guide for the maps and sizes.

How do you join a battleground queue as a group, step by step?

  1. Agree on ruleset and faction first; Blizzard's Starter Guide says you can group only within both.
  2. Invite your friends to a party. The Starter Guide says to invite nearby players. See how to play with friends.
  3. Check levels against the brackets below.
  4. Go to a battlemaster or a battleground portal.
  5. Queue everyone. In modern WoW, Warcraft Wiki says a "Join as Group" button "will enter the player's entire party into the queue." WoW Forever's window may differ, and no Forever page I opened names the button or says who must press it.

Where are the battlemasters?

Wowhead lists battlemasters in Stormwind Keep near the throne room (/way 80 38.5), Ironforge's Military Ward (/way 70 88) and Darnassus on the Warrior's Terrace (/way 59 40.5). Icy Veins adds the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar for the Horde. I did not capture Wowhead's Horde pins, so check in game. Wowhead also says you can queue from a portal at each battleground's location.

Which level bracket will your group land in?

Wowhead says players are separated into battlegrounds by level, using the brackets in Key facts, and Icy Veins lists the same ranges. No source I opened says what happens to a party whose members sit in different brackets, so keep the group inside one bracket (common-sense advice, not a sourced rule).

Who can be in your group, and who is on the other team?

Your party must share your ruleset and faction, so the opposing team is the other faction. Blizzard's ruleset article says battlegrounds may include players from other rulesets, except Hardcore, which stays separate; Icy Veins says Normal, PvP and Roleplaying players mix, but you cannot group with another ruleset's players and queue together. Team sizes per Icy Veins: 10v10 in Warsong Gulch, 15v15 in Arathi Basin and Darkspear Islands, 40v40 in Alterac Valley.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Queue button and leader: no Forever source names it or says whether only the party leader can press it.
  • Party size cap and mixed brackets: no source I opened covers either.
  • Date: Wowhead's guide predates launch (October 24), and the premade claim rests on that page alone.

Can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?

While you wait in a queue, the free Lore Forever add-on gives quests and NPCs short stories wherever you stand. Willo is a separate companion app for Windows 10 or 11 and Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 12 or later), per her page; her FAQ and the Lore Forever FAQ say Windows and Mac, though CurseForge still says Windows. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, and you can ask her out loud, for example "where is the battlemaster in Stormwind". She can be wrong and is not official, so the in-game window comes first. Both are fan-made, not affiliated with Blizzard; the add-on has no internet access. For rewards, see PvP ranks and honor.
