Elite Quests and Group Quests in WoW Forever: How They Work
Elite and group quests in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) are quests built around an enemy or task that sources say is meant for more than one player, and Blizzard's Starter Guide says "Grouping can make difficult quests more manageable." No source I opened lists every elite or group quest in Forever, so this page covers how they work and a few named examples, as of November 6, 2026.

What is an elite quest in WoW Forever?
Warcraft Wiki describes an elite as an extra-difficult enemy that gives more experience than a normal one, with quests that often pay better rewards. It also says group quests used to be called elite quests and were later relabelled Group, Dungeon or Raid. I found no source stating the quest log label in Forever.
Which Forever quests need a group?
Few are named. The clearest is Rear Guard Patrol, a Horde quest from Deathguard Linnea in Tirisfal Glades. Wowhead and Warcraft Wiki list its target, Riptear, as a level 13 elite, and Warcraft Wiki places it in Venomweb Vale. allthings.how says the quest text tells you to bring friends, and does not call a group mandatory. Wowhead adds that it leads to the Ruins of Lordaeron quest The Wrath of Rath'mael.
Warcraft Wiki lists Vorsha the Lasher, a Horde quest in Ashenvale, as a group quest for two players worth 2,300 XP. That entry is not marked for Forever. Blizzard's November 5 known-issues thread lists the quest as disabled until a crash bug is fixed, but the line is struck through and the thread does not say why, so check in game.

How do you find a group for an elite quest?
Blizzard's Starter Guide says to invite nearby players, join a guild or ask in chat. Warcraft Tavern reported on September 14 that the Looking For Group tool organizes groups but does not form them automatically or teleport anyone. Start with looking for group and leveling in a group.
What changes when you quest in a group?
Method says XP is shared, so you kill more mobs to level, and quest items do not drop for everyone at once. Wowhead says you must click an arrow at the top left of the chat window to phase to your party after joining. Blizzard's November 2 notes fixed an issue where several shareable dungeon quests gave the receiver a quest item, so check before relying on sharing.
Which group quests can a friend and I do together?
Warcraft Wiki's quest page says "Many quests recommending 3-4 players can be done with 2 players" and calls its estimates conservative; it describes quests generally, not Forever.
