WoW Forever Chat Channels: Local, General, Guild and Party, and What Is Unconfirmed
The chat channels sources name for World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) are local, general, guild and party chat, according to iTechGuides' October 19, 2026 guide. No source opened for this guide gives a Forever-specific channel list, so channel names such as Trade or LookingForGroup come from the wider game and are not confirmed for Forever.
Quick answer: Use local and general chat to greet people and ask for help, guild chat for your guild, and party chat for your group, and state activity, level range, roles, ruleset, faction, meeting point and timing when you ask for a group. Treat anything beyond that as unconfirmed.

Cities in Azeroth hum with voices before you see a single face. Chat is how those voices find each other, and in a world with no realm list it is one of the quiet ways a newcomer meets a neighbor.

Which chat channels does WoW Forever have?
The only Forever-specific naming opened for this guide is iTechGuides, which lists local, general, guild and party chat as the useful channels for finding groups. It advises that a request state the activity, level range, roles, ruleset and faction, meeting point and timing. Our looking for group guide uses that checklist, and the dungeon group guide covers the Looking For Group window.
How do say, yell and party chat differ?
Warcraft Wiki's Say page, last edited January 21, 2026, says say is seen by everyone within 60 yards and yell by everyone within 400 yards, and lists party, raid and guild chat as separate channels. The page does not say which game version the ranges apply to (its navigation links to WoW: Forever and one entry mentions Classic), so these ranges are not confirmed for Forever. A forum post from a beta player, dated September 26, 2026, says the Forever group finder mixes trade chat with group finding, which is one player's claim.
What do Blizzard's support pages say about global channels?
Blizzard Support's chat article names five global channels in the wider game: General, Trade, LocalDefense, Trade (Services) and LookingForGroup. It says a player in a major city can join a missing channel, and that some channels may be unavailable on a Starter Edition account or an account upgraded less than 24 hours ago. The article does not mention Forever, so treat it as background.
Can language settings change who you meet?
Yes, in principle. Blizzard's ruleset news says players can set a Preferred Online Language in Options under Languages and Social, that it is account-wide, and that it has a 24-hour cooldown. Warcraft Tavern's September 16, 2026 report says the game will attempt to group you with players using the same language. See Familiar Faces.
What is not confirmed yet
- No source opened lists the official Forever channel names or the commands to join them.
- The beta report of trade chat is one player's claim.
- The ranges for say and yell come from a page that does not name a game version.
- Chat features may differ at the November 4 launch from those in the beta.
The free Lore Forever add-on adds readable zone and quest background, which makes a good conversation starter with neighbors in local chat. For friends, see how to make friends.
