WoW Forever Blacksmithing Guide: Trainers, Ranks, Camp Anvil and Mining Pairing
Blacksmithing in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) is a primary crafting profession that hammers bars and stone into weapons, mail and plate, and it pairs naturally with Mining. You learn it from a trainer in a town forge, carry a Blacksmith Hammer, and train three ranks as your skill reaches 50, 125 and 200.
Quick answer: Find a Blacksmithing trainer, take Mining as your second profession, and turn stone and copper into sharpening stones first. Journeyman, Expert and Artisan each need a trainer visit. At a campfire, the Sharpening Wheel, Anvil and Master Forge unlock at skill 20, 140 and 300.

Somewhere past the last farmhouse there is always a forge, and always a hammer ringing against it. The smith never rides at the front of the column, yet every blade and breastplate in it began on an anvil. If you want to be the one who made the steel that others trust their lives to, this is where that road starts.

Where do you learn Blacksmithing in WoW Forever?
Smithing is taught wherever there is iron to work. Warcraft Tavern says trainers sit in most minor settlements and major cities. WoW Professions names Apprentice trainers: Dwukk in Razor Hill, Smith Argus in Goldshire, Tognus Flintfire in Kharanos, and Angus Hammerhand at Bandarion Keep. Warcraft Wiki describes that keep as a Forsaken post in western Tirisfal Glades that exists only in WoW Forever. Night Elves go to Delfrum Flintbeard in Auberdine, because WoW Professions says Teldrassil and Darnassus have no trainer.
The capitals have Apprentice trainers too, such as Ug'thok in Orgrimmar and Dane Lindgren in Stormwind. On Zephras Isle, Daeann Steelwind in Valanaar and Aedi Thriceforged in Shen'dar Village teach the Skyborne; see the Zephras Isle guide. You also need a Blacksmith Hammer, which WoW Professions says costs a few copper at vendors near the trainers. It adds that nobody near Angus Hammerhand at Bandarion Keep sells one, so buy it in Deathknell or Brill first.
What do the Blacksmithing ranks require?
Every rank asks for a visit and a little patience. WoW Professions and Warcraft Tavern agree on the gates: Journeyman needs Blacksmithing 50 and character level 10, Expert needs 125 and level 20, and Artisan needs 200 and level 35. RankedBoost adds that your skill stops at 75, 150 and 225 until you train.
Journeyman trainers include Snarl in Orgrimmar and Therum Deepforge in Stormwind. Expert is taught by Saru Steelfury in Orgrimmar or Bengus Deepforge in Ironforge, for 50 silver. Artisan is taught only by Brikk Keencraft in Booty Bay.
How do you level Blacksmithing in WoW Forever?
The first rungs are stone, not steel. WoW Professions starts the route with Rough Sharpening Stones, then grinding stones, then copper armor and Bronze pieces, reaching Mithril plate near skill 185. RankedBoost gives a different craft list for the same climb, so treat exact recipes and counts as estimates.
Warcraft Tavern calls the profession one of the hardest to level, but says the Legacy talent tree makes it somewhat easier, naming Working Overtime and Dedicated Study. WoW Professions warns that Classic guides mislead, since Forever recipes turn grey about 25 points earlier. Take Mining alongside it; the Mining guide shows where the ore is.
What are the Blacksmithing camp items?
A campfire turns a roadside into a workshop. Blizzard's deep dive recap says a Basic Campfire holds up to three crafted objects, one per player, with a shared one-hour cooldown. For Blacksmithing, Method lists the Sharpening Wheel at skill 20, the Anvil at 140 and the Master Forge at 300.
WoW Professions lists the Sharpening Wheel as a Strength buff that does not stack with Strength of Earth Totem, while Warcraft Tavern says it buffs Strength and Agility and likens it to that totem. Warcraft Tavern says the Anvil lets you craft on site instead of returning to a city. WoW Professions says its Blueprint drops from Gilnid in the Deadmines. The Master Forge Blueprint source is not known yet. The camping guide explains the rules.
What is new in Blacksmithing compared with Classic?
Warcraft Tavern says hundreds of new plans arrived in the beta, many with hybrid stats for mail and plate. RankedBoost counts 194 new Blacksmithing recipes. Warcraft Tavern adds that sharpening stones and weightstones now stack with poisons and Windfury.
For gold, see the best professions guide and the gold making guide. The free Lore Forever add-on shows zone and quest background while you gather ore.
What is not confirmed yet
- WoW Professions says its figures come from the beta, which ended at skill 225, so the climb to 300 is untested.
- Warcraft Tavern lists Armorsmith and Weaponsmith specializations but says the beta has not confirmed whether the Classic skill-200 specialization quests still apply. WoW Professions' trainer page lists specialization trainers in Ironforge and Orgrimmar, and RankedBoost leaves specialization recipes out of its route.
- Blizzard's recap says the Sharpening Wheel raises Attack Power, WoW Professions says Strength, and Warcraft Tavern says Strength and Agility.
- Warcraft Tavern puts the Apprentice level at 5 for crafting professions; WoW Professions says there is none.
