Who Is Tirion Fordring? The Exiled Paladin of the Eastern Plaguelands
Tirion Fordring is a human paladin of the Order of the Silver Hand who was stripped of his title and exiled for defending the orc Eitrigg, and who lives as a hermit by the Thondroril River in the Eastern Plaguelands. Warcraft Wiki says the Eastern Plaguelands remain in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), and the Vanilla WoW Wiki says he gives quests to Horde and Alliance alike.
Quick answer: Tirion was Lord of Mardenholde Keep until he spoke up for an orc. Exile cost him his title, and his son Taelan joined the Scarlet Crusade. In the original game Tirion sends adventurers to win Taelan back, loses him, and vows to reform the Silver Hand. His Argent Crusade years come later, outside WoW Forever.

In the Eastern Plaguelands, on the shores of the Thondroril River, an exiled knight keeps a cottage, and Warcraft Wiki says he asks adventurers for help without revealing his identity at first.

Who is Tirion Fordring?
Tirion is a paladin of the first generation. The Vanilla WoW Wiki calls him one of the first five Knights of the Silver Hand, chosen by Archbishop Alonsus Faol, and a hero of the Second War. Warcraft Wiki names the other four as Uther, Turalyon, Saidan Dathrohan and Gavinrad, and adds that he became governor of Hearthglen. Both wikis call him Lord of Mardenholde Keep. For the best known of his brothers in arms, read Who Is Uther the Lightbringer?.
Why was Tirion Fordring exiled?
He kept faith with an orc. Both Warcraft Wiki and the Vanilla WoW Wiki say Tirion defended the orc Eitrigg and was stripped of his title and exiled for it. The Vanilla WoW Wiki quotes him saying he cannot disavow the oath he took. He then lived in exile near the Thondroril River.
Where do you meet Tirion Fordring in WoW Forever?
Look for a cottage in the Eastern Plaguelands. The Vanilla WoW Wiki places Tirion by a cottage near the southwestern end of Terrorweb Tunnel and lists his quests as Redemption, Of Forgotten Memories, Of Lost Honor, Of Love and Family and Find Myranda, at levels 56 to 60. Warcraft Wiki's Classic page lists the Eastern Plaguelands at levels 53 to 61 and calls Light's Hope Chapel the primary travel hub into the zone. These are original-game details; no Forever-specific changes are published. See the endgame guide.
What happens in the Of Love and Family storyline?
It is a father trying to win back a son. Warcraft Wiki says Tirion asks adventurers for help without revealing his identity, then reveals himself once he trusts them, and that his son Taelan, once lord of Mardenholde, has joined the Scarlet Crusade and risen to highlord. The wiki lists three keepsakes to retrieve, Taelan's Hammer, the Symbol of Lost Honor and a family painting, then a meeting with Myranda the Hag at Uther's Tomb to reach Taelan in Hearthglen. Both wikis say Taelan was killed and that Tirion vowed to reform the Silver Hand. The Vanilla WoW Wiki says Tirion persuaded his son to leave the Crusade, only to see him killed in the attempt, and Warcraft Wiki names Grand Inquisitor Isillien as the killer. See the Scarlet Crusade lore guide.
Is Tirion Fordring part of the Argent Dawn?
Not in Forever's era. Warcraft Wiki's Argent Dawn page says Tirion took over leadership of the Dawn after the Second Battle for Light's Hope Chapel and merged it with the Knights of the Silver Hand to found the Argent Crusade. His own page says the Crusade was founded before the war against the Lich King and led the Northrend campaign. That is later than the original game's quests. For the order itself, read the Argent Dawn explainer. The free Lore Forever add-on shows quest background as you travel, and the optional Willo voice companion can read it aloud. Both are fan-made.
What is not confirmed yet
- Forever changes: no source I opened describes Forever-specific changes to Tirion's quests. Warcraft Wiki's Classic page says only that the Eastern Plaguelands remain in Forever.
- Quest details: the keepsake and Myranda steps come from Warcraft Wiki alone.
- Omitted: Mograine and the Ashbringer come from novels and comics, and are left out.
