World of Warcraft: Forever
World of Warcraft: Forever is set in the year after the Third War: Thrall's Horde has settled Durotar, Stormwind is ruled by a regent for its boy-king and the Forsaken hold the Undercity. Its world includes the Skyborne of Zephras Isle, the contested Riverglades and Shen'dralas, sacred Mount Hyjal and the city of Dalaran rising from its ruins in the Alterac Mountains.
The World After the Third War
The Burning Legion has been driven back at Mount Hyjal, but the world it left behind is raw. Thrall's Horde of orcs, trolls and tauren has made its home in Durotar and Mulgore, and the Forsaken under Sylvanas Windrunner have joined it from the ruins of Lordaeron. In Stormwind, Highlord Bolvar Fordragon rules as regent for the boy-king Anduin Wrynn while King Varian is missing. The dwarves of Ironforge, the exiled gnomes and the night elves of Teldrassil stand with the Alliance, and the Scourge still holds the Plaguelands.
The Skyborne
The Skyborne, or shen'dorei, descend from night elves who rebelled against Prince Tortheldrin of Eldre'Thalas and escaped when wind spirits carried their island, Zephras Isle, into Skywall, the Elemental Plane of Air. Ages there turned them into high elves, and a growing number are born blue-skinned. The spirits vanished centuries ago, Zephras Isle is slowly breaking apart, and the Skyborne look back toward Azeroth: their airships reach the Alterac Mountains near Dalaran and Mulgore's Skywatcher Plateau. Skyborne fight for both the Alliance and the Horde.
Lands to Explore
Zephras Isle floats in Skywall as the Skyborne's homeland. The Riverglades, east of the Burning Steppes, is an old Stormwind frontier lost in the First War, where loyalists at Farholde Keep hold out against the wilds, Horde outposts and the Twilight's Hammer at Sunnyglade. Shen'dralas is a rugged borderland between Desolace, Feralas and Mulgore, contested by centaur, quilboar and outcasts. Mount Hyjal, the night elves' sacred mountain, still bears the scars of Archimonde's defeat. In the Alterac Mountains, the Kirin Tor have lowered Dalaran's shield and are rebuilding their city, and off Kalimdor's coast the Horde and the Alliance battle over the Darkspear Islands.
Dungeons and Raids
Danger waits beneath the cities and in the far corners of the world: the Hall of Thanes deep under Ironforge, the haunted Ruins of Lordaeron above the Undercity, an excavation site in the Wetlands, the City of Dalaran itself, the Drowned City in Stranglethorn Vale, Krol'dok Stronghold in the Riverglades, Alcaz Prison in Dustwallow Marsh, Blackmaw Hold in Azshara and the Shaper's Terrace in Un'Goro Crater. On Mount Hyjal, the Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit test the mightiest war bands.
Who Walks Which Path
Warriors come from every race. Paladins are humans, dwarves or Forsaken. Shaman are orcs, tauren, trolls, dwarves or Horde Skyborne. Priests are humans, dwarves, gnomes, night elves, trolls or Forsaken. Mages are humans, gnomes, orcs, trolls, Forsaken or Alliance Skyborne. Warlocks are humans, gnomes, orcs, trolls or Forsaken. Hunters are humans, dwarves, night elves, orcs, tauren, trolls or Skyborne. Rogues come from every race but the tauren, and druids are night elves, tauren or Skyborne.
