Thorium Point

Perched upon the northern bluffs of the Searing Gorge, Thorium Point serves as the primary staging camp for the Thorium Brotherhood. From this neutral outpost, these rogue Dark Iron dwarves recruit passing adventurers and strike back against their tyrannical kin deeper within the volcanic wastes.

A Foothold Above the Ash

Overlooking the scorched slag heaps of the Searing Gorge, Thorium Point is a modest mountain encampment built out of necessity. It is held by the Thorium Brotherhood, a renegade faction of Dark Iron dwarves who have severed ties with their enslaved brethren in Shadowforge City. Unwilling to bow to the Firelord or Emperor Dagran Thaurissan, these outcasts maintain an open-air forge, a busy flight master, and a well-guarded perimeter northeast of Firewatch Ridge. Because of their desperate struggle for survival and master-level smithing aspirations, the Brotherhood keeps the camp open to both the Alliance and the Horde, welcoming anyone willing to dig ores out of the ash or bash Dark Iron skulls.

A Waystation for Wayfarers

Beyond being a staging ground for the Brotherhood's war against their brethren, Thorium Point is an indispensable crossroads in the heart of the Redridge mountain chain. Perched safely above the ravenous spiders and fire elementals that prowl the volcanic basin, the outpost offers direct flight links to Ironforge, as well as forward camps across the Badlands and the Burning Steppes. For wandering mercenaries, prospectors, and crafters looking to earn the secretive favor of master dwarf smiths, this smoky cliffside is the safest hearth to be found in the Gorge.
