Kargath
Kargath is a fortified Horde outpost perched in the western Badlands, serving as their sole foothold in Khaz Modan. Established by the Kargath Expeditionary Force under Warchief Thrall's orders, the settlement anchors crucial transit lines across the Eastern Kingdoms while staging operations toward Blackrock Mountain and the excavation at Uldaman.
A Bastion in Hostile Territory
Named in honor of the Shattered Hand chieftain Kargath Bladefist, the outpost of Kargath stands as the Horde's solitary settlement throughout the mountain realms of Khaz Modan. Surrounded by arid wastes, aggressive wildlife, and hostile dwarven factions, the garrison provides a vital midway sanctuary for travelers crossing the continent. Its flight master bridges the long divide between northern holdings like the Undercity and Hammerfall and southern redoubts like Stonard and Grom'gol Base Camp.
The Expeditionary Mission
Dispatched on direct orders from Warchief Thrall, the Kargath Expeditionary Force maintains a dual objective in the region. Troops make frequent forays into the ancient titan halls of Uldaman to uncover why Ironforge's Prospectors prize the dig site so dearly. Concurrently, scouts labor to carve a path through the Searing Gorge into Blackrock Mountain, seeking to strike at Rend Blackhand's false 'Dark Horde' while contending with the entrenched Dark Iron dwarves.
