Thalanaar

Thalanaar is a secluded night elf outpost nestled directly on the border between the verdant wilds of Feralas and the arid canyons of Thousand Needles. Serving as the primary eastern gateway into Feralas for the Alliance, it offers tired travelers a vital hippogryph roost and shelter beneath the canopy. Though modest in size, it acts as a critical link between mainland Kalimdor and the remote stronghold of Feathermoon.

Gateway to the Forgotten Wilderness

Perched at the natural choke point where the baked sandstone of Thousand Needles gives way to the dense, misty canopy of Feralas, Thalanaar is the first sign of night elven presence awaiting travelers from the east. It is little more than a fortified grove with a few sturdy pavilions and sentinels on watch, yet its position is vital. The outpost shelters Alliance scouts, couriers, and craftsmen venturing into the untamed forest, providing a secure staging ground against the beasts, ogres, and Horde forces roaming Southern Kalimdor.

A Vital Aerial Link

Because overland travel through southern Kalimdor is fraught with peril, Thalanaar's primary function is logistics. Its hippogryph master links the secluded wilderness of Feralas directly to Theramore Isle in Dustwallow Marsh, Gadgetzan in Tanaris, and the island bastion of Feathermoon Stronghold to the west. Craftsmen also make pilgrimage here to seek out master leatherworkers who teach the ancient art of working wild hides under the woodland boughs.
