Gadgetzan
Gadgetzan is the walled desert hub of the Steamwheedle Cartel, standing as an island of commerce in northern Tanaris. Open to both Horde and Alliance travelers, the town operates under strictly enforced goblin neutrality, welcoming anyone with coin to spend or odd jobs to undertake.
A Bastion of Profit in the Dunes
Surrounded by scorching sands, Gadgetzan serves as the regional heart for the Steamwheedle Cartel's ventures in southern Kalimdor. Built with characteristic goblin ingenuity and haphazard architecture, the town boasts an independent auction house, bank, inn, and specialized crafting facilities for engineers, blacksmiths, and alchemists. It also houses flight masters catering to both major factions, ensuring steady traffic of adventurers heading toward Tanaris, Feralas, and the untamed basin of Un'Goro. Above all, commerce rules supreme: as long as visitors keep their weapons sheathed and their purses open, they are safe within its gates.
Desert Troubles and Enforced Order
Peace in Gadgetzan is maintained not by good will, but by heavily armed goblin bruisers who swiftly pummel anyone who threatens trade or instigates faction brawls. Beyond the gates, however, life is precarious. The Gadgetzan Water Company constantly battles the Wastewander bandits, a ruthless gang occupying the vital Waterspring Field. Water is liquid gold in Tanaris, and the cartel frequently hires outside mercenaries to eliminate bandit leadership and reclaim vital water pouches to keep the town's reservoirs functional.
