Ruins of Eldarath

The Ruins of Eldarath are the shattered remains of a pre-Sundering Highborne city perched along the rocky bluffs of Azshara. Once a bastion of Kaldorei arcane scholarship, its fallen plazas and crumbling temples are now overrun by hostile naga. Scholars and adventurers brave the dangerous coastal ruins searching for inscribed tablets and forgotten relics of the ancient past.

A Shattered Highborne Bastion

Before the Great Sundering shattered ancient Kalimdor ten thousand years ago, Eldarath was a flourishing night elven city. Renowned Highborne mages gathered here, carving their deepest arcane insights and fundamental magical rules into grand stone tablets left in public squares for their peers to study. The Sundering dropped much of Eldarath into the Bay of Storms. The portions that survived along the eastern cliffs have sat shunned by modern night elves for millennia, slowly claimed by creeping salt spray and ivy.

Naga Rule and Forgotten Relics

In recent times, vicious naga have emerged from the sea to seize the shattered streets of Eldarath, commanded by warlords lurking within nearby sanctuaries like the Temple of Zin-Malor. Despite the danger posed by the serpents, the ruins remain an irresistible lure for outsiders. The Explorers' League has dispatched Alliance adventurers into the broken courtyards to take rubbings of Eldarath's ancient arcane tablets. Whispers of lost treasures and lingering magical energy also drew the blue dragon Azuregos to the surrounding wilderness, further confirming that secrets of immense power still sleep beneath the ruins' cracked flagstones.
