Howling Vale

Tucked away in north-central Ashenvale near the Felwood border, the Howling Vale is a darkened dell overrun by savage, alien wolf-beasts known as the Terrowulf worgen. Hidden deep within its caves lies the ancient Shrine of Mel'Thandris, an Elune-blessed ruin tied intimately to the tragic origins of the worgen curse on Kalimdor.

North of the road toward Felwood, the calm majesty of Ashenvale gives way to eerie, predatory howling. The vale shelters ancient trees alongside corrupted Terrowulf packlords and aggressive wildlife. At its heart lies a cave enshrining the memory of Mel'Thandris, an ancient night elf priestess. While the shrine once stood as a place of quiet devotion, its tranquil halls have fallen into ruined disrepair, defiled by feral wolf-men whose origin puzzles the Sentinels stationed nearby.
