Heroes' Vigil

Heroes' Vigil is a quiet, sacred clearing situated on the central island within Stone Cairn Lake in eastern Elwynn Forest. Centered around a monument known as the Stone of Remembrance, it was dedicated to honor those who fell during the First War. Today, however, the shrine sits largely neglected by Stormwind and is overrun by dangerous renegade wizards.

Erected after the First War, Heroes' Vigil centers upon the Stone of Remembrance, an inscribed stone circle meant to honor the soldiers and citizens slaughtered during the Old Horde's sacking of Goldshire and the surrounding valleys. Though once revered as a sacred bastion of faith and sacrifice, the vigil has gradually slipped from the attention of Stormwind's current rulers, leaving its hallowed grounds overgrown and unattended by the realm's soldiers.
