Stone Cairn Lake
The story
Stone Cairn Lake is a ring-shaped body of water resting in northeastern Elwynn Forest. At its center lies an island crowned with Heroes' Vigil, a memorial to the fallen of the First War. Once a tranquil site for reflection, the lake is now troubled by hostile murlocs along its shores and renegade wizards occupying the isle.
Stone Cairn Lake earns its name from the prominent stone memorial erected on the large island in its center. Known as Heroes' Vigil, this monument was raised to honor the heavy loss of human life suffered during the First War against the Orcish Horde. Families and pilgrims once traveled safely to the island to pay respects to the fallen, gazing across the calm waters at the solemn stonework. Today, however, dangerous renegade wizards have established a camp directly beside the memorial, turning a place of sacred remembrance into a hostile redoubt.
