Forlorn Cavern

The story

Tucked along the northern shores of Ironforge's subterranean lake, the Forlorn Cavern is a dimly lit, secluded district far removed from the city's bustling Great Forge. It serves as a shadowy refuge where thieves, cutpurses, and practitioners of the dark arts conduct their business away from prying dwarven guards.

While the rest of Ironforge clangs with anvil strikes and radiates heat from the Great Forge, the Forlorn Cavern is cold, damp, and hushed. Wrapping along the northern edge of the mountain's underground lake, the winding pathways sit comfortably out of sight between the Mystic Ward and the Hall of Explorers. Its gloom makes it an ideal gathering place for those who prefer to keep their affairs discreet. Local authorities largely turn a blind eye, leaving cutpurses to compare poisons, warlocks to consult grimoires behind closed doors, and quiet tradesfolk—like weapon smiths and lone fishermen—to ply their crafts undisturbed.
