Dor'Danil Barrow Den
The story
Dor'Danil Barrow Den is an ancient night elven sanctuary carved into the earth of central Ashenvale, south of Splintertree Post. Once a tranquil resting place for slumbering druids commune with the Emerald Dream, it has fallen into horror following Forsaken meddling that severed the dreamers' spirits from their bodies.
Barrow dens across Kalimdor are revered sanctuaries where night elven druids historically slept for centuries, roaming the Emerald Dream while their mortal frames remained protected underground. When the Horde pushed into Ashenvale, Dor'Danil fell deep behind enemy lines. The orcs largely ignored the comatose elves, but the newly allied Forsaken saw an opportunity. Forsaken operatives infiltrated the depths and began gruesome experiments designed to sever the sleeping druids from their spirits, fracturing their minds and driving them hopelessly insane. The darkened hollows now crawl with sinister Forsaken assassins and the furious, torment-maddened spirits of druids who can no longer return to their bodies.
