Master Apothecary Faranell

Master Apothecary Faranell is the head of the Royal Apothecary Society, stationed within the depths of the Apothecarium in the Undercity. In life a respected Dalaran scholar, in undeath he directs the Forsaken's search for a devastating New Plague to eradicate both the Scourge and the living.

Before the Third War, Faranell was an esteemed alchemist who spent decades studying alongside the learned mages of Dalaran. He spent his mortal days seeking cures, remedies, and potions to improve mortal health. When the Scourge plague claimed his life and he arose as a free-willed Forsaken, his former scientific curiosity curdled into cruelty. Retaining his encyclopedic intellect, he traded healing salves for catastrophic reagents, quickly becoming one of Queen Sylvanas Windrunner's most valued researchers in the bowels of Lordaeron's fallen capital.
