Archmage Ansirem Runeweaver

A veteran mage who helped defend Dalaran across decades, Ansirem Runeweaver sits on the Council of Six, the ruling magocracy of the Kirin Tor. He survived the devastation when Arthas Menethil and the Scourge marched upon the city and Archimonde was summoned. In the wake of Dalaran's fall, Ansirem has aided the efforts to rebuild the arcane city, whose protective shield was lifted early, and now works from the Violet Citadel.

Despite his scholarly duties and stern wizardly demeanor, Ansirem possesses personal ties far beyond the Alterac Mountains. His willful daughter, Catelyn, ran off to Booty Bay to become a pirate, taking with her an ancient troll dagger he had found while researching in Stranglethorn. He has also dealt with Baron Revilgaz there. He has also engaged in arcane studies involving troll antiquities and maintains diplomatic conduits across distant realms.
