Toxic Soil Quests in Westfall, WoW Forever: All 11 Steps from Alba Fairmoon to the Deadmines

Toxic Soil is a new Alliance storyline in Westfall in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever): 11 quests at levels 12 to 18, all started by Alba Fairmoon at Sentinel Hill, worth 8,210 XP in total according to ForeverChanges. It begins with water samples from two farms and ends in the Deadmines.

Quick answer: Take Testing the Wells from Alba Fairmoon at about 52.4, 53 once you are level 9. Then Murloc Gills, The State of the Mines, Moonbrook Espionage, a loop through Stormwind's Dwarven District, and the two Destruction in Deadmines quests. One GitHub issue reports that Humans may not be able to take the chain.

Six stages in order: Alba Fairmoon at Sentinel Hill, Testing the Wells and Murloc Gills at level 12, The State of the Mines at 14 and Moonbrook Espionage at 15, five level 16 quests through Stormwind's Dwarven District, and Destruction in Deadmines at level 18 for 2,700 and 675 XP; the chain is 11 quests and 8,210 XP.

The storyline starts with Testing the Wells at Sentinel Hill and ends at the Deadmines exit, per ForeverChanges; the dungeon itself is covered in the Deadmines guide.

Key facts

  • Giver: Alba Fairmoon, Sentinel Hill, Westfall, 52.4, 53 (ForeverChanges).
  • Length: 11 quests, levels 12 to 18, 8,210 XP in total (ForeverChanges).
  • Required level: 9 on every ForeverChanges quest page I opened for the chain.
  • Faction: Alliance (ForeverChanges, allthings.how).
  • Status: Tagged New in Forever; ForeverChanges' Destruction in Deadmines page says its details come from Wowhead's Forever database until the beta confirms them.
  • Ends at: The Deadmines exit, where Alba takes the final turn-ins at 38.6, 83.6 (ForeverChanges).

What are the Toxic Soil quests, in order?

ForeverChanges lists the storyline as follows (see also the Westfall guide):

  • Testing the Wells: Level 12, 460 XP.
  • Murloc Gills: Level 12, 460 XP.
  • The State of the Mines: Level 14, 490 XP.
  • Moonbrook Espionage: Level 15, 550 XP.
  • Explosive Consultation (from Alba): Level 16, 575 XP.
  • A Dynamite Plan: Level 16, 575 XP, from Sprite Jumpsprocket in Stormwind.
  • Detonation at a Distance (two quests): Level 16, 575 XP each, from Sprite Jumpsprocket and Jasper Fel.
  • Explosive Consultation (from Sprite): Level 16, 575 XP.
  • Destruction in Deadmines (two quests): Level 18, 2,700 XP and 675 XP, both from Alba Fairmoon.

How do you start Testing the Wells and Murloc Gills?

You start with the wells and the shoreline. allthings.how says Testing the Wells asks for a sample at the Molsen Farm, roughly 46.2, 38.3, and at the Jansen Stead, around 56.7, 18.7, using a reusable Well Water Sample Kit; it pays 460 XP and +50 Stormwind reputation. Murloc Gills asks for 7 Longshore Murloc Gills from coastal murlocs west of Sentinel Hill, past Gold Coast Quarry; allthings.how lists drop chances from about 0.15% to 2%.

What do The State of the Mines and Moonbrook Espionage ask?

They send you into the mines. The State of the Mines asks for 6 Riverpaw Miners in the Gold Coast Quarry and 4 Kobold Diggers in the Jangolode Mine (allthings.how, ForeverChanges). Moonbrook Espionage asks for 8 Suspicious Industrial Supplies from Moonbrook. allthings.how says they appear as glowing yellow tool chests in Moonbrook's buildings and in a cave toward the Deadmines entrance. The sources disagree on the numbers: ForeverChanges lists Moonbrook Espionage at level 15 and 550 XP, allthings.how at level 16 and 580 XP.

Why does the chain go through Stormwind?

Warcraft Wiki says Explosive Consultation asks you to travel to the Dwarven District in Stormwind and find an engineer who can supply explosives against the toxin source in the Deadmines, and that the quest is Forever-only and was added in Patch 1.60.1 (Beta). Warcraft Wiki lists it at level 16 and 580 XP, where ForeverChanges says 575. Per ForeverChanges: A Dynamite Plan asks for 10 Coarse Dynamite for Sprite Jumpsprocket (54.6, 8); the first Detonation at a Distance sends you to Jasper Fel (78.2, 58.8) to ask Stormwind Intelligence about a remote detonator; the second brings the Remote Detonator Kit back to Sprite; and the second Explosive Consultation sends you back to Alba, with Extra-Destructive Explosives.

What happens in Destruction in Deadmines?

You blow up the forge. ForeverChanges lists the first quest as a level 18 dungeon quest for 2,700 XP: find the forge hidden in the Deadmines, plant the Extra-Destructive Explosives, and meet Alba at the Deadmines exit. The second quest, for 675 XP, asks you to use the detonator, and ForeverChanges lists Alba at 38.6, 83.6 as the end point.

Can Human characters do the Toxic Soil quests?

Possibly not, and no source I opened confirms it in the game. A GitHub issue in the fitzforge/polestar project, opened on October 16, 2026, says Wowhead's Forever data lists Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome and Skyborne for the chain, not Humans, and that the project's Westfall guide had wrongly sent Humans to Alba. The issue was closed as completed the same day; a comment asks anyone who plays a Human through Westfall to report whether Alba has nothing for them. ForeverChanges and allthings.how show no race limit beyond the Alliance. If you play a Human, treat the chain as uncertain. Skyborne is covered in the Skyborne guide.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Race restriction: One GitHub issue reports it from Wowhead data; ForeverChanges and allthings.how show none.
  • Level and XP: Moonbrook Espionage is 15 and 550 on ForeverChanges, 16 and 580 on allthings.how; Explosive Consultation is 575 or 580.
  • Beta status: ForeverChanges' Destruction in Deadmines and Detonation at a Distance pages say their details come from Wowhead's Forever database until the beta confirms them.
  • Rewards: ForeverChanges lists no item rewards for most of the chain, and its money fields read oddly, so I give none.
