WoW Forever Teldrassil Quest Guide: Shadowglen, Dolanaar and the World Tree
Teldrassil is the night elf starting zone in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), a world tree off the coast of Kalimdor where new characters spend levels 1 to 5 in Shadowglen and levels 5 to 10 around Dolanaar, Lake Al'Ameth and the Oracle Glade before the boat to Darkshore. Warcraft Wiki says the original zone remains in Forever. No source has published Forever-specific Teldrassil quest changes, so this guide follows the original quest line.
Quick answer: Start in Shadowglen with Conservator Ilthalaine, walk to Dolanaar, then clear Starbreeze Village, Lake Al'Ameth, Ban'ethil Barrow Den and the Oracle Glade. Leave through Rut'theran Village by boat to Auberdine in Darkshore, which Warcraft Wiki lists at levels 9 to 25.

A whole forest grows out of one tree on the dark water of the Veiled Sea. The first quests are gentle, with spiders to chase from the paths and moonwells to tend, but the road through Dolanaar and Lake Al'Ameth is where you begin to see that something in the green is wrong.

Where do night elves start in Teldrassil?
The first steps lead through the quiet roots of Shadowglen. Warcraft Wiki calls Shadowglen the beginning area for night elves, where new characters usually spend levels 1 to 5, and Warcraft Tavern says Forever night elves start there as well. Conservator Ilthalaine gives the opening quests, with Melithar Staghelm, Dirania Silvershine, Gilshalan Windwalker and Tarindrella nearby. Tenaron Stormgrip, in Aldrassil at the top of the tree, sends promising young elves into the world, according to the Classic zone page. The questing guide says your class trainer is in the tree in Shadowglen.
Night elves can play Druid, Hunter, Priest, Rogue or Warrior, and Warcraft Tavern says no new night elf classes were added for Forever. The race and class guide covers the full list, and the first 10 levels checklist covers what to do on the way.
What is the best quest order in Teldrassil?
The road from the glen to the sea runs through the settlements in a loop. Warcraft Wiki's questing guide gives Shadowglen for levels 1 to 5, then levels 5 to 10 in this order: Dolanaar, Starbreeze Village, Lake Al'Ameth, Ban'ethil Barrow Den, the Pools of Arlithrien and the Oracle Glade, with a return to the lake before you leave.
- Dolanaar: Tallonkai Swiftroot gives Twisted Hatred and Ferocitas the Dream Eater, according to the guide. It lists Byancie (First Aid), Cyndra Kindwhisper (Alchemy), Malorne Bladeleaf (Herbalism) and Zarrin (Cooking) among the trainers.
- Starbreeze Village: Gaerolas Talvethren is the NPC here, and the wiki's table lists Gnarlpine Corruption at level 6.
- Lake Al'Ameth: Denalan runs the timberling quests.
- Ban'ethil Barrow Den: Oben Rageclaw is the NPC here, and the quests include The Sleeping Druid.
- Oracle Glade: Sentinel Arynia Cloudsbreak is the NPC here, and the wiki lists the glade's quests at levels 11 and 12.
Warcraft Wiki's guide adds two warnings: the Iverron's Antidote chain has a time limit, so do not log out during it, and hunters' pet quests begin at level 10.
Which quest chains tell Teldrassil's story?
Three chains carry the zone's plot. Crown of the Earth sends you across the island to gather moonwell water, and the Classic zone page says each trip reveals night elf history. The wiki's quest table starts it with Crown of the Earth at level 5, from Tenaron Stormgrip in Shadowglen, and ends it at level 11 with Corithras Moonrage in Dolanaar. The timberling chain begins with Denalan's Earth and investigates the corrupted timberlings. The furbolg chain runs A Troubling Breeze, Gnarlpine Corruption, The Relics of Wakening and Ursal the Mauler. For the tribe itself, see the furbolgs of Azeroth.
Teldrassil has no ore, so no mining, according to the Classic zone page. Its herbs are Peacebloom, Silverleaf, Earthroot, Mageroyal and Swiftthistle.
What is the story of Teldrassil?
Warcraft Wiki and Wowpedia agree on the core of it. The night elves grew a new world tree in the Veiled Sea shortly after the Third War. Archdruid Fandral Staghelm led the druids while Malfurion Stormrage was missing, and the Aspects did not bless the tree. Nozdormu, the source of the elves' immortality, refused, so the elves did not regain it. Warcraft Wiki says the name is Darnassian for "crown of the earth".
Both wikis tie the zone's sickness to the Gnarlpine furbolgs and the corruption they spread. Wowpedia names Ursal the Mauler and Ferocitas the Dream Eater and says fel moss tainted timberlings and webwood spiders. For the wider history read Night Elf History, Nordrassil, the world tree explained, Tyrande Whisperwind and Malfurion Stormrage. The free Lore Forever add-on adds readable background as you stand in each place, and the optional Willo Windows companion answers lore questions by voice.
How do you leave Teldrassil?
Rut'theran Village waits at the foot of the tree. Its quest page lists Vesprystus as the hippogryph master, and the Classic zone page says the village connects to Darnassus by portal and to Auberdine by boat. Warcraft Tavern adds that boats in Forever now run from Darnassus to Auberdine, from Auberdine to Stormwind, and between Menethil Harbor, Southshore and Auberdine. After Darnassus, the Darnassus guide covers the capital. For the route onward read the Alliance leveling zones guide.
