WoW Forever Quest Voice Add-ons: Voiceover and Narration Options

Several free and paid add-ons on CurseForge read quest text aloud in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), including Forever TTS, ForeverDubbed, Spoken, and the Russian-language CatQuest and Wayfarer. As of October 27, 2026, no source opened for this guide says Blizzard voices quest text itself, so players who want spoken quests install one of these.

Quick answer: Forever TTS reads quests with the game's built-in text-to-speech and needs no voice packs. ForeverDubbed needs a companion app. Spoken needs separate voice packs. CatQuest and Wayfarer voice quests in Russian for the Russian client. Lore Forever adds lore and narrates selected stories rather than every quest.

Which add-on does what for spoken quests
Six WoW Forever add-ons compared by what their CurseForge pages say: Forever TTS uses built-in text-to-speech on Windows; ForeverDubbed needs a companion app; Spoken needs separate voice packs; CatQuest and Wayfarer voice quests in Russian for the Russian client; Lore Forever adds lore and narration for selected stories. PeonSounds plays Peon sound effects, and ForeverQuest is a quest helper that does not mention voice.

A quest log is a long book, and not everyone wants to read every page of it. Somewhere between the first errand in a starting zone and the last long chain, a voice can turn the reading into listening.

Key facts

  • Forever TTS (wcs_): reads quests and NPC text with the game's built-in text-to-speech; Windows only (CurseForge)
  • ForeverDubbed (dungfu): NPC voices and quest narration, but requires a companion app (CurseForge)
  • Spoken (rustykey): character voices for quests, gossip, zone lore and books; each module needs its own separate voice pack (CurseForge)
  • CatQuest (Cathey): Russian voice-over, the page claims 98% of quests from levels 1 to 60 (CurseForge)
  • Wayfarer (Andrewich): Russian voiceover that requires the Russian client (CurseForge)
  • Lore Forever: lore for zones, quests and dungeons, recorded narration for selected stories, and a backstory button on quest windows (CurseForge)
  • Game version: each page lists WoW Forever game version 1.60.1

Which add-on reads quests aloud for free?

The easiest first step is the one that asks for nothing. According to its CurseForge page, Forever TTS reads quest descriptions, progress dialogue and completion text using the game's built-in text-to-speech voices, with an animated NPC portrait and controls to pause, skip and clear the speech queue. The page says it needs no voice packs, API keys, subscriptions or companion apps, and that it supports the WoW Forever beta client on Windows only.

Because it uses text-to-speech voices, expect a synthetic read rather than a performance. The page credits the portrait and queue interface to the VoiceOver add-on by mrthinger and contributors.

Which add-ons give each NPC a voice?

Two pages describe character voices. ForeverDubbed, by dungfu, says it provides NPC voices and quest narration, but its page states the add-on cannot generate or play voices on its own and requires the ForeverDubbed companion app. Spoken, by rustykey, says NPCs speak their quest text and gossip, zones tell their stories and books read themselves aloud. Its page says the add-on does not include voices, that each module needs its own separately listed voice pack, and that without one the add-on stays silent. Spoken lists support for WoW Forever, WoW Classic and Burning Crusade Classic.

Read the install notes on each page before you pay or download, because both add a second piece to the setup.

Are there Russian voice-over add-ons for WoW Forever?

Yes, two. CatQuest, by Cathey, calls itself Russian voice-over for WoW Forever and claims 98% of quests from levels 1 to 60, with more than 1,900 speaking NPCs plus books and zone lore. Wayfarer, by Andrewich, voices quest accept and turn-in text, narrates zone lore and reads books, letters and plaques. Its page states it requires the Russian game client (ruRU). Both pages list WoW Forever game version 1.60.1.

What about sound effects and quest helpers?

Not every quest add-on speaks. PeonSounds-Forever, by Schemanze, plays Peon voice lines on quest progress, objective completion and quest completion, which is sound effects rather than quest narration. ForeverQuest, by AnacondaGaming, is a quest helper with a movable tracker, map markers and optional quest automation; its page does not mention voice or narration.

For the quest log itself, see the quests and quest log guide, and for the wider add-on list, the best add-ons guide.

Where do Lore Forever and Willo fit?

Lore Forever is this site's own add-on, so weigh the description accordingly. Its CurseForge page describes zone, quest and dungeon lore, recorded narration for selected zone stories, dungeon bosses, places and people (entries without a recording are text only), one-line lore in NPC tooltips, and a Lore button on quest windows. Narration of quest dialogue is a separate option that the page says is off by default. It is not a full quest-dubbing add-on. The downloads page has the free add-on and optional narrator voice packs. The optional Willo companion app, which the Willo page says is almost here and Windows only for now, answers questions spoken out loud.

What is not confirmed yet

  • The pages describe what each add-on claims; this guide did not test voice quality, accuracy or coverage in game.
  • Several pages were updated during the beta, and Forever's launch client may require new versions.
  • Forever TTS lists the beta client on Windows only; other platforms are not listed.
  • CatQuest's 98% figure is the author's claim on its own page.
