Bronzebeard clan
The Bronzebeard clan is the ruling dwarven royal line and dominant population of Ironforge. Following their victory in the ancient War of the Three Hammers, they forged strong ties with humanity and the gnomes, standing today under King Magni Bronzebeard as a cornerstone of the Alliance.
The War of the Three Hammers
Long ago, dwarven society in Ironforge flourished under High King Modimus Anvilmar. When the king died of old age roughly 230 years ago, simmering rivalries erupted into civil war. Thane Madoran Bronzebeard commanded the traditional garrison and largest standing army within Ironforge, successfully driving both the Wildhammer and Dark Iron clans from under the mountain. When Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan mounted an assault to reconquer Khaz Modan, Madoran Bronzebeard led his clan in a decisive campaign that shattered the Dark Iron host, solidifying Bronzebeard supremacy over Ironforge.
A Pillar of the Alliance
Human kingdoms first encountered the Bronzebeards nearly two millennia ago, building mutual respect through shared mastery of metalcraft, trade, and a passion for battle. When the Orcish Horde swept through the continent in the Second War, King Magni Bronzebeard brought his realm into the Alliance of Lordaeron. Despite withstanding brutal sieges within their subterranean fortress, Bronzebeard engineers, gunners, and demolitionists provided pivotal firepower and arms that helped turn the tide of the war.
