Agamaggan
Agamaggan the Great Boar was one of the colossal Ancient Guardians who walked Azeroth in its earliest days. He fell ten thousand years ago fighting the Burning Legion in the War of the Ancients, and his sacrifice helped save Azeroth from ruin. Where his blood and body crashed into the earth, vast networks of thorny vines arose, creating the Razorfen and granting life and purpose to his descendants, the quilboar.
The War of the Ancients
Ten thousand years ago, during the War of the Ancients, the mighty demigod Agamaggan came forth to battle the Burning Legion. The colossal boar fought with terrifying ferocity, and though he ultimately fell in combat, his actions helped save Azeroth from ruin.
The Razorfen and Blood Shards
Where Agamaggan collapsed in the southern Barrens, his colossal corpse reshaped the land. His spilled blood soaked into the soil, causing enormous, impenetrable brambles and thorny vines to burst upward from the dry earth. These tangled thickets became known as the Razorfen. The quilboar revere the site as their holiest ground, viewing the labyrinth of Razorfen Kraul as his resting body and Razorfen Downs as his gaping skull. Scattered throughout the Barrens are crystallized Blood Shards, believed to be the physical remnants of the demigod's spilled blood, pulsing with lingering primal energy that quilboar geomancers and shamans harness for power.
Father of the Quilboar
Agamaggan is revered as the divine progenitor of all quilboar. They view the surrounding brambles not merely as homes, but as the living armor left behind by their creator to shelter them from hostile neighbors. Quilboar tribes believe their god's spirit watches over them, granting martial vigor to their warriors and earth magic to their geomancers. In turn, they aggressively defend the thorns against encroaching tauren, orcs, and centaur, convinced that their sacred duty is to guard the fallen body of the boar god who birthed them.
