Ruins of Kel'Theril
The Ruins of Kel'Theril are the shattered remnants of an ancient night elven city bordering the frozen expanse of Lake Kel'Theril in central Winterspring. Destroyed ten thousand years ago during the Great Sundering, its frostbitten stone pillars and temples remain haunted by the tormented spirits of Highborne who perished in the cataclysm.
A Shattered Legacy
Long before Winterspring became a frozen highland, Kel'Theril stood as a grand settlement of the ancient night elven empire. When the Well of Eternity collapsed during the Great Sundering, the city was blasted into ruin and buried beneath ice and snow. The disaster caught the residing Highborne unaware, binding their souls to the snowbound stones. Today, the spirits of these former spellcasters linger among the frostbitten arches, endlessly reliving their final, catastrophic moments.
Echoes in the Snow
Travelers braving central Winterspring encounter restless, spectral Highborne haunting the ruined lakeside colonnades. These phantoms are often hostile, driven mad by millenniums of isolation and the violent magic that tore their civilization apart. However, a few sorrowful apparitions, such as the Remorseful Highborne, seek out travelers willing to hear their lingering laments and make peace with their forgotten past.
